Coronation Street star sparks rumours he is set to leave the cobbles after fans spot clues on social media about his next moves

Coronation Street star Adam Hussain has sparked rumours he is set to step away from the cobbles after a slew of clues on social media.

The actor, 23, has played Dev Alahan’s son Aadi since 2020 but fans have begun to suspect he is being written out of the show.

Adam hasn’t had a storyline on the soap since January – when he was rushed to hospital in dramatic scenes.

But fans of the star have spotted signs he may be departing the soap, after sharing that he was starring in a film for a new production company and posting scenes from acting classes.

He also later posted new headshots on his Instagram page – something actors tend to do before they switch gigs.

Under one of the posts of his acting reels, a fan asked: ‘Is that the reason your not on Corrie tho.’

However despite responding to comments from other fans, Adam did not reply or answer the question.

The actor’s scenes have been minimal since January when he was rushed to hospital after collapsing due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

On Monday, Calum Lill, who plays villian Joel Deering, was revealed to be leaving the cobbles also – and is set to be filming his final scenes in the next few months, according to The Sun.

It follows the latest reports that Bill Fellows, who plays Stu Carpenter, will be also leaving the programme.

In the soap, it was finally revealed that Joel has been grooming and abusing young girls as well as trying to murder Lauren Bolton.

Joel drugged Lauren and attempted to kill her baby but his plan backfired when she went into early labour and the baby survived.

Now, his journey is due to come crashing down as his fiancée Dee-Dee has began to question his lies – leading to his shock exit.

A source told the publication: ‘Calum has made a huge impact as Joel over the last year but he always knew it wouldn’t be for a fixed term.

‘He’s been great playing Joel but all good soap villains must get their comeuppance and Joel’s is coming very soon.

‘He’s already landed his first job after the show and so he’ll be finished in time to start rehearsals for that.

‘But on-screen Joel has no idea what’s coming for him as his dark secrets start to be exposed.’

Calum has already got his next role in the works as he is set to appear in the Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime later this year in Bournemouth.

Coronation Street signed up Calum, who is best known for playing P.C. Carlton Smith in Hollyoaks in 2021, last year.

During his time on Hollyoaks, Calum had a big part in John Paul McQueen’s storyline which saw his boyfriend, PC George Smith, abuse him.
