Bridgerton Showrunner Confirms Fans’ Worst Expectations About Season 4

The show will take decades to make at this rate.

One of the best things about Bridgerton, both the novel series and the TV show, is that in every other book or season, the viewers get to explore a new love story with a new romantic trope. With 8 siblings in the family and 8 books to cover, the fans can expect a long yet very entertaining journey for the Bridgerton family to go through.

So far, however, Netflix has greenlit only 4 seasons of the show. And while the fans continue to guess who the 4th sibling to get their love is going to be, the showrunner rushes to explain why we won’t be getting another season anytime soon.

Bridgerton Season 4 Release Date

The good news is that the fourth season has already been greenlit and is sure to be released. The bad news is that the show still takes a long time to produce, and there is not much the team behind it can do to speed up the process.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jess Brownell, the show’s showrunner, explained all the steps that go into creating a full season of the Regency romantic fairy tale.

“We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly, but they do take eight months to film and then they have to be edited, and then they have to be dubbed into every language. And the writing takes a very long time as well, so we’re kind of on a two-year pace, we’re trying to speed up but somewhere in that range,” she said.

For now, there’s no official word on who’s going to star next season, but Netflix may want to get the older ones out of the way first. The 35-year-old Luke Thompson, who plays Benedict, and the 34-year-old Claudia Jessie, who plays Eloise, certainly won’t lose their charm with age, but they’d hardly qualify as 20-something siblings in two or four years.

When it comes to the younger siblings, however, they’re the ones who benefit from such a schedule. If each season does indeed take two years to produce, Will Tilston, who plays Gregory Bridgerton, will be 23 and Florence Hunt, who plays Hyacinth, will be 25 by the time their seasons are filmed.

So far, however, the main couple of the current season, Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington, is still occupying all the attention of the fans. If you are interested to see where Bridgerton season 3 part 2 takes the entire Bridgerton family, be sure to tune in to Netflix and stream the episodes today.
