Coronation Street’s Colson Smith returns to filming with four-word line and says he’s ‘buzzing’
The ITV soap star hasn’t had too much time to digest his Celebrity Big Brother experience after he came third in the show
Coronation Street star Colson Smith hasn’t had too much time to digest his Celebrity Big Brother experience as fresh from the wrap party following the live final on Friday (March 23), the actor was whisked back to Manchester on Saturday (March 24).
The actor spent three weeks in the iconic house after ITV rebooted the celebrity version of the reality series earlier this month. He entered the house alongside X Factor star Louis Walsh, broadcaster and author Fern Britton, Strictly Come Dancing star Nikita Kuzmin, theatre star Marisha Wallace and YouTube presenter Zeze Millz.
But as the short few weeks went on and the famous faces living in the iconic compound were whittled down, Colson, who is known for playing Craig Tinker in the ITV soap, made it to the final alongside Louis, Nikita, Fern, Heartstopper star Bradley Riches and Ibiza Weekender’s David Potts.
As he returned to Corrie’s Salford-based set on Monday (March 25), Colson appeared via video link from the Rovers Return on told Good Morning Britain and told hosts Susanna Reid and Richar Madeley how he time since leaving the CBB house played out.
He said: “Literally straight out the house, slept in London, had the wrap party, into a car, script straight in front of me, ready to get back on the beat.
“But today I only have one line. So you know, I can’t complain today, they are easing me back in Weatherfield.” Pressed for what he needs to say, the 25-year-old revealed: “The line is ‘How old are you?’. It’s taken me all weekend as well.”
Colson also said he was yet to reunite with most of his co-stars but added: “They’ve been so supportive and I’m so lucky that I have such a great group of people here.
“I’m excited to get back in the green room with everyone today and listen to what they thought, find out what they enjoyed in the show and share stories of my time in the house.”
Reflecting on his time in the house, he said: “I think when you do a show like this (the thing is) is to expect the unexpected, and I’m not quite sure what I expected, but it was certainly more than I could have ever imagined. I feel so privileged to have been a small part of the iconic show, and I’m also buzzing to be back in Manchester now.”
