Coronation Street’s Courtney Vance star admits feeling ‘so bad’ filming ‘revenge’ scenes
EXCLUSIVE: Coronation Street’s Courtney Vance had a clear plan to get back at her cheating husband during the early days of her affair.
Coronation Street star Stephanie Davis revealed she felt bad while filming certain scenes with co-star Adam Hussain.
Earlier this year, fans of the ITV soap welcomed the new husband and wife duo Courtney and Darren Vance (played by Ryan Early).
However, Courtney soon turned her sights to Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) and the pair found themselves thrown into a secret affair.
After getting exposed, they decided to give their relationship a go and they moved into their own flat.
Although, it was clear she was struggling with the adjustment after living a more luxurious lifestyle with Darren.
In recent scenes, it all became too much for Courtney and she decided to give her marriage another go, leaving Aadi heartbroken.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk and other media publications, the actress was asked whether or not she wanted to wind Darren up during the early days of her romance with Aadi.
Touching on scenes in the Bistro where her husband saw them in public for the first time since the affair was exposed, she confessed: “I was saying to Adam, ‘I feel really bad for you!’
“Because god help Aadi as the character, he will do anything for Courtney. If she says the sky is purple, the sky is purple.”
“He falls for her hook line and sinker every time for every little excuse, she does turn it up on purpose because she knows Darren’s there.”
Although the soap star confessed Courtney’s feelings for Aadi were genuine, her behaviour towards him is extremely toxic due to how she’s been treated in the past.
Stephanie continued: “She does genuinely care about him but as it’s been said, Darren has cheated on her before in the past and a part of it for Courtney is, ‘I’m going to treat you how you’ve treated me, let’s see how you like it’
“She wants to get that reaction out of him. When we were filming those scenes I couldn’t – his [Adam Hussain] little face, I was like, ‘Oh no this is terrible!’
“I felt so bad for him, he’s just so lovely but she is doing it for a pure reaction.”
Although fans have welcomed the latest addition to the show, it looks as though Courtney’s time on the cobbles is coming to an end.
A TV insider told The Sun: “Naturally she’d hoped that maneater Courtney could stick around for a good few years but bosses feel like the story arc is complete.
“She’s not being killed off, though, so there’s no reason why Courtney couldn’t one day return and the door remains open to Steph.
