New Coronation Street romance confirmed as troubled youngsters become a couple

Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) and Max Turner (Paddy Bever) gave into their feelings for each other in Coronation Street tonight and decided to become an item.

Max and Lauren first met each other when they became part of a far-right gang. When Lauren returned to the cobbles, Max supported her, but didn’t want a relationship at the time as he was with Sabrina (Luana Santos).

Ever since Max discovered what happened between Joel (Calum Lill) and Lauren, he’s been a pillar of support for her, often seen at the hospital while Lauren watches her very young son Frankie grow and get better.

In tonight’s episode, it was the day of Joel’s funeral. The evil character’s body was found in a lake a few days ago and now, Kit (Jacob Roberts) and DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) are trying to find out who killed him.

A number of people remain prime suspects in the case including Lauren, the Bailey brothers and Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown).

To distract herself from the funeral, Lauren spent a lot of her day at the hospital with Max and their friend Bobby (Jack Carroll).

As they chatted, Bobby picked up on Lauren and Max’s chemistry and tried to address it, but they both seemed quite reluctant to open up.

Once Bobby left, Lauren and Max chatted on their own and concluded they did really like each other.

Amid an awful lot of stress and overwhelming emotions for Lauren, finding romance with Max has came as a positive distraction for her.

But with Joel’s murder investigation continuing, just how long will her happiness last?
