‘Thanks for everything!’ Coronation Street star reveals she has left show with final scenes already filmed

Coronation Street star Luana Santos has left the ITV soap after just over one year as Sabrina Adetiba.

She first appeared on our screens in June last year, having fallen out with her brother Gav (Noah Olaoye), who was in a youth detention centre with Max Turner (Paddy Bever).

When Max was released, his new mate asked him to check in on his flat at Weatherfield Precinct and he ran into Sabrina, who had been squatting there. She masqueraded as Gav’s girlfriend Bec, hoping that her fake identity would secure a roof over her head.

The two later grew closer, much to the annoyance of his ex-girlfriend Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).

When Gav arrived home, he was furious with Max for moving in Bec – only to discover he was actually referring to Sabrina.

Their relationship soon hit a rocky patch, when she discovered his and Lauren’s involvement in the far-right extremist gang and their racist plots against the Nazir family.

After accepting that they both had learnt the error of their ways, the trio formed a strong friendship group and following Lauren’s disappearance, Sabrina was adamant to track her down safely.

Now, fourteen months on, Luana has filmed her final scenes.

Confirming her exit on Instagram yesterday, she wrote: ‘Last day with Corrie… thanks for everything. Drama school here I come’, alongside a picture of her in a dressing room, and a sweet snap of her with co-star Jack Carroll, who plays Bobby Crawford.

The story was then shared by The Street’s own social media, confirming the news was true.

In more recent months, Sabrina came face to face with Lauren’s abuser Joel Deering (Calum Lill), who plied her with booze in the park and looked certain to become his next victim.

However, Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) soon caught his eye when he saw her waiting of Sabrina and Gav outside of the police station.

Last week, after a tough conversation with Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan), Betsy built up the courage to report his behaviour as suspicious to her mum, detective sergeant Lisa (Vicky Myers).

With both Lisa and Joel’s fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) now fully aware of his scheming behaviour, it looks like he’s finally set to get his comeuppance.

But will Sabrina be involved in that, and could this lead to her exit story?
