All The Sopranos Characters Deserve Our Hate, but This One is Simply the Worst and Here’s Why
Really, it pains us to believe such people can exist in real life.
There are many TV shows that are created to bring laughter and joy to viewers’ lives. They are really lighthearted, they give off positive vibes and are genuinely created to lift people’s spirits.
But there are also shows that change your outlook on life for the worse after you watch them. One of those powerful yet gripping series is definitely The Sopranos, the iconic show that despite being so dark has managed to capture the hearts of millions of fans all over the world.
At the center of the series we see an Italian family, the Sopranos. The father of the family, Tony, is also a mob leader, a ruthless criminal, if you will. Around him we have a lot of other mobsters who are just as terrible as he is: they manipulate, they murder, they pay with people’s lives.
The most terrifying thing about the show is that there are no characters that are genuinely good. They are all deeply flawed and troubled, even the children. For example, Meadow Soprano, a young and beautiful daughter of the titular character, is also a spoiled girl who values no one in her life.
All the characters in the show really deserve our hatred, but there is one who is definitely the worst of them all, even though she is not a criminal per se and is not a mafioso.
Those who are familiar with the show might understand already that we are talking about none other than Livia Soprano. The woman of every person’s nightmares and the reason why Tony Soprano ended up the way he was: deeply troubled and with mental issues.
Livia is the worst person for many reasons. First, she was a bad mother when Tony was born, and we see this in many of the flashbacks he has throughout the show. Not only did she literally pay no attention to him when he was a child, she turned him into a paranoid adult who tries to earn her kind word with every action he takes.
As if turning her own son’s life into a nightmare was not enough, she was willing to kill him. And not once! She actually encouraged different people to make the move… Fans of the show say that this fact makes her the scariest character on The Sopranos.
“There is not a single redeemable thing about Livia. Every single thing she does is aimed at hurting people. She has absolutely no care for anything or anyone and is willing to degrade her own life to bring others down or break them,” Reditor UnexpectedVader said.
Livia is one of those people who takes pleasure in hurting other people, and that kind of psychotic behavior is the most terrifying.
