House of the Dragon Season 2 Actor Teases a Bigger Role For a Team Green Member
The one who started it all is coming into the forefront.
House of the Dragon’s season 2 is less than a month away from finally arriving at Max, and all the new details coming in leave no doubt that it will probably be the fiercest war that Westeros has ever seen.
With House of Targaryen’s members split into two rival teams, the fight for the Iron Throne within the same family is set to put its leaders aside while now bringing to the light those who acted in the shadows all that time.
Judging by the most recent revelations, House of the Dragon’s upcoming season is going to give more of an evil arc for the character that escalated the whole confrontation between the Blacks and the Greens back in season 1.
The previous installment’s ending shows Rhaenyra’s son Lucerys finding his tragic death in a dragon chase started by Alicent’s son Aemond. The season’s last minutes come as an obvious premise for everything that will happen in the upcoming season 2.
In one of his recent interviews Ewan Mitchell, who portrays Aemond in the show, reflected on his character’s impact in the approaching full-scale war between Rhaenyra and Alicent’s teams. According to Mitchell, now nobody seems to be “as insidious as Aemond in Westeros” who will later on prove to have no mercy towards those who haven’t chosen their camp or rather chosen the one that confronts his team.
The actor also added that everyone in there should “either be on Rhaenyra’s side or you can stay in one piece. ” This notion is sort of confirmed in the recently dropped final trailer for the upcoming season where Aemond is set to rebel against his mother Alicent who, as he claims, still has love for their enemy and her former best friend Rhaenyra.
Mitchell’s update about his character thus raises yet another thought about whether Aemond will make an attempt to frame Alicent for taking over her position as the team leader.
Fans’ biggest questions will finally receive answers when House of the Dragon season 2 hits Max on June 16.
