Karate Kid Legends Poster Reveals Ralph Macchio & Jackie Chan’s Movie Returns & New Young Character
The first poster for Karate Kid: Legends has been released, unveiling Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan’s movie returns, alongside the young character they’ll be training. The upcoming Karate Kid: Legends was announced back in September 2022, with the two lead actors confirmed to reprise their roles from previous films in the franchise. It was also revealed they would be seen training a new character, later revealed to be actor Ben Wang, who has been cast as Li Fong. Originally slated for release in December 2024, the film was pushed to May 30, 2025.
Now, Karate Kid Movie has released a poster for Karate Kid: Legends online, showing Macchio and Chan reprising their roles as Daniel LaRusso and Mr. Han respectively. Wang’s Li Fong can be seen in a fighting stance on the poster, offering the first major look at his character. The post’s tagline is “Legends are forever,” signifying the importance the movie will have in passing down the legacy of karate. Check out the new poster below:

What Karate Kid: Legends’ New Poster Reveals About The Movie
Karate Kid: Legends will be the intersection between the mainline movies featuring Daniel as the main character, and the 2010 remake where Mr. Han trained Dre Parker (Jaden Smith). The film’s confirmation sets the remake within the same universe as the original, meaning its events are going to happen after those of Cobra Kai season 6, where Daniel is a main character. While it appears the movie will be going in its own direction following the events of previous films and the Netflix show, it’s likely to embody the same spirit as what’s come before.
The poster has a similar design to previous posters in the franchise, which have often featured shades of orange and two characters facing opposite one another. The skyline in the background also hints the movie will take place in a city, potentially Los Angeles, where the original movie and Cobra Kai take place. This could mean characters from The Karate Kid franchise will show up, including familiar faces in the show like Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka). Li will likely be established as the next generation’s lead, perhaps tying into the TV series’ Miyagi-do Dojo at some point.
Our Take On The New Karate Kid: Legends Poster
The new poster, being reminiscent of previous ones in the franchise, indicates the film will be honoring the tradition of what came before while carving out a new path. The combination of Daniel and Han working together helps tie the entire franchise together, doing so in a satisfying way that teases what the future holds. Although there’s plenty of mystery surrounding what Li’s story will entail, it appears to be a strong continuation of everything that came before.
