Who Wins Cobra Kai Season 6’s Final Battle

Cobra Kai season 6 will see its characters compete in the Sekai Taikai, and if Karate Kid’s formula is any indicator, the champion is already clear.

Cobra Kai season 6 will mean the series’ final battle, but The Karate Kid may have already revealed who would win. The spinoff series started following the same formula as the classic 1980s martial arts film but with a significant twist. Instead of Mr. Miyagi sagely training Daniel LaRusso like, in The Karate Kid, Cobra Kai saw bad boy Johnny Lawrence teaching a brand new underdog how to stand up to bullies—entirely in his own style, of course. Now, several seasons and a lot of butt-kicking later, the series is coming to an end, and LaRusso’s story could provide some insight into how everything will shake out.

Cobra Kai has seen several epic battles across its five seasons, and they all seem to have been building up to the Sekai Taikai in season 6. This will differ significantly from the All-Valley tournament Karate Kid fans have become familiar with. The fighters in this competition are said to be of an entirely different league, so it will take the very best of Cobra Kai, Miyagi-Do, and Eagle Fang to come out on top. Of course, leading up to Cobra Kai season 6, the senseis and students of these dojos learned a lot of important lessons that will help with their victory—but the end result may come all the way back from the days of The Karate Kid.

Miguel’s Connection To Daniel Means He Will Win The Sekai Taikai In Cobra Kai Season 6

Cobra Kai season 1 started out with Johnny filling the shoes of Mr. Miyagi and Miguel taking over the underdog role previously held by Daniel. In many ways, this makes Miguel the true main character of Cobra Kai, which should indicate that he will be the winner of the Sekai Taikai—just as Daniel was the winner of the All-Valley in Karate Kid. Of course, the plot of the spinoff series is far more involved than the parent film, with several times more characters. So, Cobra Kai’s final battle will likely be more complicated than Daniel’s crane-kick ending.

Miguel has come a long way since his season 1 All-Valley championship. At that point, he had begun to embrace the way of the fist a little too much, and it took him down a dark path. Now, going into Cobra Kai season 6, he is fighting for Johnny’s Eagle Fang dojo, which has a far more balanced way of approaching karate. This is an arc that Daniel himself never went through, which makes Miguel’s ending a little less predictable. Still, since Cobra Kai started with these parallels, it should finish by bringing them back.

The Final Battle Of Cobra Kai Season 6 Will Need To Parallel The Karate Kid

Part of what made Cobra Kai work so well is how it duplicated The Karate Kid’s formula but with its own twist. By making Johnny Lawrence both the antithesis and parallel of Mr. Miyagi, the series took a predictable idea and shifted it to keep audiences on their toes. Of course, Cobra Kai has since begun to go its own way, but as the series reaches its final season, it will need to bring back Karate Kid’s formula to bring about a satisfying ending.

The Netflix series shifted its focus to Miyagi-Do and its students, but since Daniel completed his Karate Kid journey with his final fight in Cobra Kai season 5, season 6 is all set to return to Johnny and Miguel. This will allow the show to return to the parallel that made it work. As Eagle Fang’s sensei and first student prepare for the Sekai Taikai, they can sum up everything they learned throughout the series to bring about a major triumph at the tournament. Of course, this would also mean learning from past mistakes.

Cobra Kai Season 6 Must Resolve Johnny & Kreese’s All-Valley Mistakes

It’s hard to deny that Johnny was the superior fighter in The Karate Kid, but Daniel still walked away with the win. In the end, it was Kreese’s determination to play dirty and Johnny’s decision to go against his better judgment and listen to his sensei that cost them the victory. Now, with Johnny and Miguel on the side of the good guys in Cobra Kai season 6, they can repair this damage.

If the final season of Cobra Kai takes a route that would parallel The Karate Kid, then the final battle of the Sekai Taikai will see Johnny and Miguel faced with the decision to either repeat the past mistakes of Cobra Kai or to take the path of honor as Mr. Miyagi and Daniel did. This could also mean an opportunity for John Kreese to redeem himself. Ultimately, it seems it will all come down to one last battle, and the choices that the Cobra Kai characters will make will demonstrate how far they have all come since The Karate Kid.
