“Sarah was a bright light in this world, she wanted everyone to live their happiest life and smile when they think of her,” Sarah’s sister Rebecca shared.
The tribute also included photos of Sarah alongside her father. In one snapshot, the father-daughter duo can be seen smiling for the cameras while in another picture, they are leaning in while talking to one another.
In a conversation with PEOPLE, Sarah’s brother Dominic Jr. shared that his sister will be remembered for “her kindness,” calling it “one of the greatest human attributes.”
He said Sarah “knew how to throw a party because she had a catering business. I just think that that’s such a great quality, if somebody knows how to throw a party.”
“She was dedicated to her craft, like a real artist when it came to that,” he said of her catering business.
He added that his father, Dominic, was in Colorado during Sarah’s final days, saying, “I would just like to say that my father was there in her final days to support her in her transition. It was important to her and him both.”
In a tribute to his mother shared on Sarah’s Instagram page, her son remembered her as “one of the most accomplished women I’ve ever known.”
“Whether it was reclaiming and restoring old barns, working in a law firm in her early twenties, or dominating the Hudson Valley with her catering company in her late fifties, she got the job done—always in record time, with unreal competence,” he wrote.

Dominic famously portrayed Tony’s Uncle Junior, a mentor who is the technical head of the family for much of the series, on The Sopranos.
His success in entertainment brought him closer to his family, he shared in a 2021 interview with SouthJersey.com.
“But the biggest thing that happened (with success) is that it has connected me back with everyone in my family,” Chianese said at the time. “I’ve always been close to my kids, but now we`re talking about everybody – cousins, aunts, uncles – and old friends.”
“They think it`s a beautiful thing that I`ve reached success late in life, but in only two years. I`m also very grateful that it happened at an age where the success doesn`t go to my head.”
