The Rookie

Oops! Skip Tracer Randy Is Back with More Problems in ‘The Rookie’ Season 7, Episode 17 Promo

John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) knows something is seriously wrong whenever Skip Tracer Randy (Flula Borg) drops by on The Rookie. It’s been a while since the bounty hunter has been on the show, but he returns in Tuesday’s episode, and as usual, something has gone wrong. “The team helps Skip Tracer Randy when his new love interest is kidnapped. Meanwhile, Angela (Alyssa Diaz) and Nyla (Mekia Cox) enlist their moms to help catch a con artist, and Wesley is threatened to drop a case,” reads the logline for The Rookie Season 7, Episode 17, “Mutiny and the Bounty.” ABC released a sneak peek of the episode airing on May 6, which features another weird connection to Nolan, like in Abigail’s (Madeleine Coghlan) case.

Skip Tracer Randy comes bearing news. “I’m in love!” he tells Nolan. But that’s something mundane that most people go through. However, Nolan is flabbergasted to learn that Randy’s love interest is none other than his brother, Pete’s (Pete Davidson) girlfriend, Chastity (Meg DeLacy). The video below shows a phone call between Nolan and Chastity, which doesn’t end well when unidentified men grab Chastity and throw her in the back of their van. “You have one hour to send us fifteen million,” the kidnappers make their demands. Lieutenant Gray (Richard T. Jones) identifies where Chastity might be held, and the team jumps into action to try and prevent the worst. The kidnappers are not only stupid but also they’re dangerous, and when the police arrive, a shootout ensues. Randy is usually wrongly implicated in these cases, so seeing what happened this time will be interesting.

Oscar’s Return to ‘The Rookie’ Is Imminent

As the season hurtles towards the finish line, The Rookie is set to bring back villains who have been in hiding to develop or resolve their arcs. “John and Harper work together to catch Oscar (Matthew Glave); Angela investigates a bank robbery; Lucy (Melissa O’Neil) and Tim (Eric Winter) learn to adapt to her new schedule, and Miles’ (Deric Augustine) first date takes an unexpected turn,” reads the logline for Episode 18, “The Good, the Bad, and The Oscars,” airing in two weeks on May 13. Showrunner Alexi Hawley teased to Collider the return of villains like Oscar and Monica (Bridget Regan), saying:

“Look, I mean, I think one of the joys of what we’ve managed to find on the show are some great villains. So I think Monica and Oscar are both that, although in very different ways. I mean, we’ll definitely see them again this season, I can say, without spoiling it. And then going forward, we’ll see, I don’t want to give anything away,”

Tune in to ABC on Tuesday, May 6, to watch Skip Tracer Randy’s return and see how he got entangled with Chastity and a kidnapping.
