Buck & Eddie’s Major 911 Season 9 Episode Revealed By Showrunner

It’ll be a tough transition for the long-running drama as it attempts to move forward after the death of Captain Bobby Nash and the subsequent exit of Peter Krause. The shocking departure put several other storylines on the back burner, including major developments for the fan-favorite pairing known as Buddie.
In a preview for Entertainment Weekly, Minear teased the upcoming Día de los Muertos storyline between Buck (Oliver Stark) and Eddie (Ryan Guzman). In a change of pace, despite his previous reservations, Minear teases that Eddie might have a “spiritual awakening.”
“It really opened up for me just some great possibilities for Eddie and I’m really excited about that one. Buck is quick to believe things, but Eddie might be quick to believe things now too. I know he always sort of poo-pooed those things, and kind of walked away from his faith, but I think there may be a spiritual awakening in Eddie’s future.”
What This Means For Buck & Eddie In 9-1-1 Season 9
Minear, who co-created 9-1-1 with Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, has the option of addressing the lingering questions between the two firefighters. 9-1-1 season 8 seemed to be heavily pointing to Buddie. Several characters, including Buck’s sister Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt), indicated that there may be more going on between the two best friends.
That possibility is left lingering. Buck has moved out of Eddie’s apartment, seeking a place of his own, while Eddie is back with the 118 at the last minute. The way that 9-1-1 season 8 ends means that the popular procedural can go in any direction during its effort to refresh and start over.
Our Take On Buck & Eddie In Season 9
The franchise has its hands full, since it will launch 9-1-1: Nashville on the same night that the original returns. It also has to tap into that playful dynamic between Buddie, hoping it will still resonate in the same way after the death of a major player like Bobby Nash.
