How Long The Rings Of Power Season 3 Has Left To Film Revealed By LOTR Star

The series debuted in 2022 to record viewership and an 84% on Rotten Tomatoes. Two years later, The Rings of Power season 2 was released on Prime Video and received the same score on Rotten Tomatoes, though viewership declined. Both seasons earned multiple Emmy Award nominations.
While promoting his new movie I Swear, Robert Aramayo gave some insight into the production schedule for The Rings of Power season 3, which began filming in mid-2025. The Elrond actor revealed to Deadline that he’ll wrap up filming in the London area at the end of 2025, and added “then I’ll try and get a job fast.”
What This Filming Update Means For The Rings Of Power Season 3
Aramayo wasn’t clear if he meant that only his role would be done by the end of 2025 or if the entirety of filming for Rings of Power season 3 would finish by then.
While it seems like filming from May to December is a short amount of time for such an ambitious show, this actually falls in line with the timeline for The Rings of Power season 2, which took around eight to nine months to film.
Our Take On The Rings Of Power Season 3 Filming Update
Lord of the Rings fans are always eager to get their hands on any updates about The Rings of Power as well as the upcoming Gollum movie. Aramayo’s filming update put everything into perspective in terms of when Prime Video might finally release the next installment.
Once filming wraps up for The Rings of Power season 2, a lot of time will be spent on post-production, especially since this is a visual effects-heavy show. There was a two-year wait between the first two seasons.
Based on that timeline, fans might expect The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 3 sometime in 2026, though 2027 seems more likely considering how late into 2025 the show is continuing to film.
