Camilla Luddington Teases “Huge” Grey’s Anatomy Season 22 Finale

Ahead of the Grey’s Anatomy season 22 finale in May, Camilla Luddington teased what to expect—and how Gerber Get’ems! Squeezies are helping her and Matthew Alan’s kids through a filming break.

When it comes to a Grey’s Anatomy finale, nobody knows where it might end up—but Camilla Luddington is sharing a bit of insight.

Ahead of the season 22 finale airing May 7, there are plenty of loose ends for the show to address, and Camilla—who has played Dr. Jo Wilson since season 9—emphasized the upcoming episode is “so big.”

“It’s huge,” Camilla told E! News in an exclusive interview. “When we were reading at the table read, I was like, ‘How, how are we gonna shoot this? Like we have to shoot it in three weeks. Like how are we gonna do this?’”

And since the finale has officially been shot, the 42-year-old was able to tease a bit of what is to come for her character, especially after returning to work following the traumatic birth of her and Dr. Atticus “Link” Lincoln’s (Chris Carmack) twin baby girls.

“Jo is at a big crossroads at the end of the finale,” Ca

Meanwhile, the Call It What It Is host also had a bittersweet ending off-screen when it came to saying goodbye to longtime castmates Kim Raver and Kevin McKidd, who confirmed their departures from the show late last month.

“It’s really tough,” Camilla admitted. “We’ve all become family. We’re shooting for—it’s an 18 episode show right now and I’ve shot with Kevin when it’s been 25 episodes—so you grow so close.”

Indeed, Camilla—who is now among the most veteran Grey’s cast members alongside James Pickens Jr. and Chandra Wilson—noted that it will feel “very strange” on set without them, but alluded to their potential, partial returns adding, “Hopefully we’ll see them next season.”

As for how the Grey’s Anatomy star—who shares daughter Hayden, 9, and son Lucas, 5, with husband Matthew Alan—is recharging after yet another extremely emotional season? She’s spending a lot of time with family.

“We’re knee-deep in sports season,” the mom of two shared. “So, it’s a lot of T-ball and softball. That’s all we’re doing every weekend.”

With all of the games and practices to get to, Camilla has also been leaning on her tried and true snacks, Gerber Get’ems!, and particularly their new Squeezies purees.

“Figuring out on the go snacks or all the in-between, this makes it just so much more or less complicated because they love it,” she explained of the snacks, which hit shelves April 5. “I also just feel like I’m winning as a mom because I am not throwing them something that’s full of sugar. It’s made with real fruits and veggies. I want other moms to know about it.”

Trust, Camilla will be spending some of her break with her on-screen family, too—especially when it comes to giving Kim and Kevin proper goodbyes.

“We’re going to get together for dinner and then let’s talk about all the memories,” she shared. “You want to have that moment, just the two of you too.”
