Blue Bloods season 14’s biggest unanswered questions after Reagan family drama axed

Blue Bloods may be over but fans still have questions following the release of the season 14 finale

Blue Bloods season 14 has left some long-term fans with questions they still want answering despite the drama getting axed.

News of the iconic CBS police family drama making a comeback for season 14 last year was bittersweet as the announcement coincided with the revelation that it would be the final season.

Cast and fans alike were devastated at the cancelation with Frank Reagan star Tom Selleck stating that he was “frustrated” at the show’s unexpected demise.

The final episode of Blue Bloods came out in December 2024 and months on, viewers still have some questions regarding its ending.

Blue Bloods season 14’s biggest unanswered questions

Danny and Baez

Fans were very much divided on whether or not Danny Reagan (played by Donnie Wahlberg) and Detective Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez) should get together.

So while their relationship wasn’t established, the finale saw Danny ask her out for pizza, hinting at them giving it a go.

Blue Bloods season 14: Will Danny and Baez really give a relationship a go?

But the question does remain whether or not Danny and Baez are going to work as a couple or decide they’re not suited for one another after a few dates.

Of course, Danny will soon be starring in his own spin-off Boston Blue which is going to reveal if he and Baez did become official.

Henry

Henry Reagan (Len Cariou) had struggled with retiring after spending his career on the force, especially since he was surrounded by a family of police officers.

Blue Bloods season 14: What does the future hold for Henry Reagan?

He was instead used as more of a side character, helping the younger generation with their issues and encouraging Danny Reagan to pursue his romance with Maria Baez.

There was no talk of what Henry could get up to next to deal with his lack of purpose, essentially leaving his future in limbo, watching the rest of the family’s endeavours from the side lines.

Sean’s future

Sean Reagan (Andrew Terraciano) shared with his family during the penultimate episode that he managed to get enough credits to graduate from New York University a year earlier than expected.

Blue Bloods season 14: What will Sean Reagan get up to after graduating from NYU?

He wasn’t sure what to do next and sought advice from his loved ones but the matter wasn’t discussed further so it’s unclear if Sean wanted to join the force like the rest of his family or do something entirely different.

Erin and Jack

Erin (Bridget Moynahan) and Jack (Tony Terriciano) have had a turbulent relationship over the years but decided to secretly get married again in the finale without the rest of the Reagans present.

They agreed to tell everyone at a later date and while everyone has accepted Jack still being around, their real feelings about him are not made clear.

Blue Bloods season 14: How will the Reagan family react to Erin and Jack getting married again?

Henry had previously said that he would forgive Jack for everything he had done “when I die” so it was disappointing to not see how he and the Reagans would have reacted to them tying the knot again.

Eddie and Jamie

One of the reasons Erin delayed telling everyone about her and Jack was because Eddie (Vanessa Ray) and Jamie (Will Estes) shared that they were expecting their first child.

Blue Bloods season 14: How will Eddie and Jamie cope with their new lives as parents?

Eddie will have to juggle the responsibilities of motherhood with the dangers of her job which have been heightened by the death of Badillo (Ian Quinlan).

She will also have to become acquainted with a new partner so fans are left wondering how she is going to cope with so much change on the horizon and how it will impact her relationship with Jamie.
