Claire Holt Reveals Who She’d Date from Vampire Diaries, and It’s Not Who You Expect

The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and Legacies may all be over, but that doesn’t mean we should stop obsessing over them, right?

Rebekah Mikaelson might have gotten the happy ending she deserved (or at least will get it further down the line) with the mortality and getting married to her beau Marcel Gerard, but Claire Holt, who played Rebekah, is actually not a big Rebel fan.

In an old interview that resurfaced on Instagram, the actress was asked who she would date from The Vampire Diaries or The Originals, and after a second of hesitation, she gave her firm but unexpected answer.

Apparently, Claire Holt has the hots for her co-star Candice King (née Accola), who played Caroline!

Unfortunately, whatever chemistry the two may have had seems to be gone now. While King split from her husband of eight years and father of two children, musician Joe King, last year, Holt is one happy wife and mama!

Claire tied the knot with real estate exec Andrew Joblon in 2018, and they welcomed a son in 2019 and a daughter in 2020.

Much like her character Rebekah, the actress has always wanted kids and a family. After her first failed marriage to producer Matt Kaplan and a miscarriage in 2018, she finally got everything she ever wanted (and we are happy for her)!

Holt and King are still friends (and follow each other on Instagram), so at least there is that. By the way, both actresses appeared in all three of the shows, though only as guest stars in Legacies.

A year after the last spinoff saw its end, Candice doesn’t have any projects, but she is currently hosting her own podcast – A Superbloom Podcast with Candice King.

Claire has also taken a step back from acting to spend more time with her family. She does post on her blog, The Corner by Claire Holt, from time to time.

Maybe the vampire era has passed for these two (though considering their expertise in the field, they can get parts in the new Twilight reboot in no time), but we are glad that they are enjoying a new stage in their lives and careers.

Hopefully, we will get to see Claire and Candice together on the big screen again sometime in the future!
