‘Cobra Kai’ Final Season Part 1 Trailer: Worldwide Karate Showdown Awaits and Mr. Miyagi Leaves Behind One Last Secret
Netflix has debuted a trailer for the first part of the final season of “Cobra Kai,” premiering on July 18 on the streamer.
The sixth and final season will be split in three parts, with each part containing five episodes. The second batch will be released on Nov. 28, and the third in 2025. This makes for the first-ever three-part series at Netflix. The series now sees the group Cobra Kai eliminated from the Valley — and a new challenge emerging as the senseis and students train for the Sekai Taikai, the world championships of karate.
“Cobra Kia” is a spin-off of the “The Karate Kid” franchise and “follows the story of Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), who is at rock-bottom as an unemployed handyman haunted by his wasted life. However, when Johnny rescues bullied kid Miguel from tormentors, he is inspired to restart the notorious Cobra Kai dojo,” according to the official logline. The series is set 34 years after Daniel LaRusso’s (Ralph Macchio) victory over Johnny Lawrence in the 1984 All-Valley Karate Tournament.
The cast includes Macchio, Zabka, Martin Kove, Xolo Maridueña, Jacob Bertrand, Mary Mouser, Tanner Buchanan, Peyton List, Gianni DeCenzo, Courtney Henggeler, Vanessa Rubio, Dallas Dupree Young, Yuji Okumoto, Alicia Hannah-Kim, Griffin Santopietro and Oona O’Brien.
The “Cobra Kai” showrunners include Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, who executive produce through Counterbalance Entertainment. Macchio and Zabka also executive produce alongside Will Smith, James Lassiter, Caleeb Pinkett and Susan Ekins. Sony Pictures Television produces the series.
