‘Cobra Kai’ Season 6 Teaser Shows Cast Ready for the Show’s Final Bow
‘Cobra Kai’ is getting pumped for its sixth and final season, Netflix teased at its Tudum event on Saturday
Cobra Kai is coming to an end, but the series will never truly die. After all, legends live forever. And now we have our first glimpse at what’ll be kicking when the show returns for its final run. At Netflix’s Tudum event on Saturday, the streamer revealed the first teaser for Cobra Kai Season 6.
In a behind-the-scenes clip of the show’s stars gathering for their first table read of the new season, the cast goofs around before getting down to business.
“It’s great to have everyone back. So excited to be here,” Ralph Macchio says to his co-stars. “It’s been an awesome, long journey, but it’s not over yet. Season 6 could to be the biggest, badass-est, most amazing season of Cobra Kai yet,” William Zabka adds to pump up the team.
While we don’t get a lot of intel from this teaser about what’s ahead in the new season, it does at least preview one problem the characters will face. Gianni DeCenzo, who plays Demetri in the show, reads the following from his script: “Victorious dojos are immortalized and for individual competitors the sky’s the limit, but before we throw our hats into the mat, there’s one thing we need to do: decide our dojo name.”
Series creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg previously confirmed the show’s ending in an open letter to fans on January 20.
“When Daniel LaRusso arrived in the Valley with his mother in 1984, little did her know that his was about to be forever changed,” they wrote. “The same went for three young kids from New Jersey who hadn’t yet met one another. Daniel’s journey from bullied teen to underdog hero became an indelible part of our childhoods, and something that we would always carry with us in our hearts.”
“Making Cobra Kai has allowed us to join the same hallowed dojo once inhabited by the great Robert Mark Kamen, John Avildsen, Jerry Weintraub and all the amazing original cast members,” the trio continued. “It has also enabled us to play sensei, expanding the original storylines and birthing a new generation of underdogs. We’ve never once taken this opportunity for granted.”
“In the meantime, strap in for the biggest season of Cobra Kai yet,” they concluded. “And let today be a celebration of all that’s come, as well as all that’s still left to be told. We couldn’t do it without you.”
Cobra Kai debuted in 2018 on YouTube Red before eventually moving to Netflix. It is a continuation of the The Karate Kid film franchise, which premiered in 1984.
The show stars returning actors Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Martin Kove and Thomas Ian Griffith, as well as newcomers Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni DeCenzo, Peyton List, Vanessa Rubio and Dallas Dupree Young.
