Diana Gabaldon excites Outlander fans with new revelations about season 8
The Outlander author answered viewers’ questions and cleared up a few issues regarding script-writing and when the second half of season 7 would be coming to screens
Outlander author Diana Gabaldon has excited fans of the hit show after answering a number of queries on social media. It doesn’t take much to excite the show’s faithful fans at the moment as they eagerly await the second half of season 7 with Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe.
There’s also the small matter of the prequel: Blood of my Bloods which production has begun for with the exciting addition of Tony Curran who has recently joined the cast. But Gabaldon also revealed on X, formerly Twitter, that season 8 of Outlander would begin shooting this year too.
In a short Q&A with fans, she was asked, bizarrely, if Outlander was ‘still a thing’, to which she replied: “Well, of course it is. We’ll have the second half of Season 7 sometime this year, and then Season Eight (which will begin filming a bit later this year)”.
A happy fan responded: “Season 8 too??? Wow! Reason enough for me to grow a year older and happier.”
She did also reveal, however, that she has no idea when the remaining season 7 episodes would air after being asked by several curious viewers. She said: “I know absolutely nothing as to air dates.”
She did confirm, though, that she is taking part in the script-writing for the prequel and season 8.
