FINAL RUN? 9-1-1: Lone Star’s Rob Lowe teases upcoming season ‘feels like end of an era’ as fans think he ‘confirmed’ cancellation
9-1-1: LONE Star’s Rob Lowe, 60, teased the show’s upcoming season as the hit drama series was delayed due to the writer’s strike.
The Outsiders star revealed season 5 “feels like the end of an era”, leaving fans to believe he just “confirmed” the show’s cancellation.
In an interview with Variety, Rob Lowe got candid about the upcoming season of 9-1-1: Lone Star.
In a discussion with the publication, Rob said he feels like season 5 might be the final.
“We all went into it pretty much knowing that it was going to be the last season, so that affected everything we did,” Rob told the outlet.
“We wanted to really show everybody what is still possible in network television if people have the appetite to do it.
“It feels like it’s probably the end of an era of a certain type — well, it doesn’t feel like it.
“It is the end of an era of a certain type of show we once had an opportunity to make, and I think they’re great,” Rob continued.
“We wanted to go out making our case for the value of shows like that and I think we did a really good job.”
Following the interview, fans rushed to social media to share their thoughts.
“So Rob Low basically just confirmed that 911 Lone Star was canceled,” said one X user.
“I love 911 Lone Star!! I’ve been waiting for it to come back on since the strike and it’s been driving me crazy! Not sure what I’ll do if they cancel it,” wrote another.
“No, please do not cancel this show!!! Great show & great cast,” said a third.
The show had been delayed due to the writer’s strike last year.
In May of this year, Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade gave fans an update on the show’s upcoming season.
“Lone Star was not on the schedule this year because of the strike, and we’re really looking forward to getting it back on in the fall,” Rob revealed to Deadline.
“We are excited about the new season. We’re going to see how that goes as always, and then make decisions on that about the future of that franchise.”
GRACEFUL GOODBYE
Talks of a final season come after a 9-1-1: Lone Star cast member quietly exited the show.
Last month, news broke that Sierra McClain, who played Grace Ryder, exited the show.
We all went into it pretty much knowing that it was going to be the last season, so that affected everything we did.

While Sierra has not publically announced her departure, Deadline confirmed the news.
According to the outlet, Sierra’s exit was reportedly due to “cast renegotiation drama.”
Sierra played Jim Parrack’s love interest on the 9-1-1: Lone Star for all four seasons.
It is not confirmed whether Jim will remain in his role as Judd Ryder for the whole season.
