Power Book 3: Raising Kanan renewed for season 4
The prequel series is due to return for its third season this week.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan has been renewed for a fourth season.
The series is due to return for its third run later this week, with network Starz now confirming that a follow-up is on the way, with filming starting now.
“We’re thrilled to continue Kanan Stark’s story, and for fans to see how the events of his formative adolescent years continue to mold him into the cold-hearted villain they were first introduced to in Power,” Starz president of original programming Kathryn Busby said.
“We are quite sure that after viewers see the battle lines being drawn between Raq and Kanan on this epic upcoming third season that they will demand more.”
Last month, Raising Kanan gave fans a new look at the third season, showcasing a first glimpse of The Wire star Wendell Pierce.
The show acts as a prequel to the main Power series, following the younger years of Kanan Stark (played in this series by Mekai Curtis).
Speaking last year to Digital Spy, Curtis spoke about approaching some of Raising Kanan’s darker scenes.
“At this point, I kind of do a disassociation thing. I think there have definitely been difficult days – whether it be for, you know, the actual hours that we’re putting in, whether it be the actual content or concept of what we’re shooting,” he said.
“But by the end of the day, I’m so kind of, like, depleted and I’ve put my all into the work and what’s happening I kind of just like, base out.”
In other Power news, Book IV: Force star Joseph Sikora recently confirmed that his spin-off will be returning for a third season after the recent conclusion of its second.
