Robby Has 1 Huge Advantage Over All Other Characters In Cobra Kai Season 6
Robby seems to have 1 major advantage over other Cobra Kai characters, which might ultimately help him win season 6’s central Sekai Taikai tournament.
In Cobra Kai season 6’s Sekai Taikai, Robby Keene might have one huge advantage over all the other Cobra Kai characters. Robby has had one of the most cathartic arcs in the Cobra Kai franchise. After starting his journey as a troublemaker, too consumed by his hate towards his father, Robby became a disciple of the Miyagi way in Cobra Kai’s season 1. Unfortunately, when a brewing rivalry between Cobra Kai and Miyagi Do reached its boiling point towards the end of season 2, Robby Keene lost control during his one-on-one school fight against Miguel and accidentally pushed him off the stairs.
With what followed, Robby reached an all-time low after he landed himself in a juvenile correction facility. However, instead of letting one incident determine the trajectory of his life, Robby got back on his feet again in Cobra Kai season 3. Although he initially struggled to forgive his father and bury his beef with Miguel, Cobra Kai season 5 saw him doing both, setting the stage for his final redemption. Robby’s Cobra Kai arc has been awe-inspiring, but that does not necessarily make him stand in the series. What gives him an edge over other main Cobra Kai characters in season 6 is his karate learning journey.
Robby Has Trained Under Four Different Senseis In Cobra Kai
Unlike Miguel, Robby started learning karate by chance in Cobra Kai season 1. His initial plan was to get close to Daniel LaRusso only to make his father jealous. However, somewhere along the way, he started looking up to Daniel and became his first karate student after Sam. Under Daniel’s guidance, Robby learned the Miyagi style of fighting that involved honing his defense and counterstriking abilities. Robby’s ability to recreate some advanced Miyagi moves, like the double-leg handstand kick, proved he was already a well-rounded Miyagi Do fighter toward Cobra Kai season 1’s ending.
Cobra Kai season 4 marked the beginning of a new arc for Robby, where he started training karate under John Kreese and Terry Silver’s wing. After learning to defend himself using Mr. Miyagi’s techniques in the first three seasons, Robby became more attack-oriented in Cobra Kai season 4 by adopting Kreese and Silver’s “no mercy” fighting philosophy. Although he lost in the All Valley final against Hawk towards Cobra Kai season 4’s ending, he proved he was one of the most complete fighters in the show’s roster.
In Cobra Kai season 5, Robby finally tried to forgive his father and briefly trained under him. On the surface, making amends with Johnny and training with him did not significantly change his fighting style. However, given how Robby was previously an impulsive fighter, often driven by his overwhelming anger towards his father, improving his relationship with Johnny allowed him to become more grounded, thoughtful, and present during his fights. All in all, training under four of the best senseis in Cobra Kai helped Robby master a diverse set of karate techniques and craft a unique skill set that sets him apart from others.
Robby Could Train With Chozen In Cobra Kai Season 6
Now that Robby has trained Johnny, Daniel, Kreese, and Silver, Cobra Kai season 6 can finally have him learn the traditional Miyagi-Do style under Chozen. Although Robby briefly learned a karate lesson or two from Chozen in Cobra Kai season 5, season 6 could show how Chozen helps him get a deeper understanding of Miyagi Do karate’s spiritual aspects. Since Robby already took one step towards acquiring mental peace in season 5 by forgiving his father and burying his beef with Miguel, Cobra Kai season 6 would be the perfect time for him to find inner harmony and tap into his full potential as a fighter.
Will Robby Win The Sekai Taikai?
Robby is already a far more balanced fighter than most characters in Cobra Kai because he has adopted techniques and philosophies from the senseis of both primary dojos. As seen in both Cobra Kai All-Valley finals, his lack of mental peace and conflicting morals were the primary factors holding him back from winning the tournament. Now that he is in the pursuit of overcoming his psychological constraints, he could have a good chance at winning the Sekai Taikai toward Cobra Kai season 6’s ending.
Since the Sekai Taikai is an international tournament, it will involve competitors from all over the world, who will bring a diverse set of karate styles. Most Cobra Kai characters have predominantly trained in one dojo, which could limit their ability to fight against other complex styles that fighters from different parts of the world will bring to the tournament. Robby, in contrast, might have better odds of defeating international fighters in Cobra Kai season 6 since his hybrid style and understanding of contradicting fighting philosophies gives him a huge advantage over others.
