Sam Heughan Admits He Doesn’t Know The Ending Of ‘Outlander’ Yet
Sam Heughan confessed on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon that he knows how the Outlander series ends.
Sam, originally from Dumfries, plays Jamie Fraser in the historical fantasy series Outlander, alongside Caitriona Balfe who plays his on-screen wife Claire Fraser.
The 41-year-old actor is gearing up for fans to see the sixth instalment of the hit Starz drama, based on the books by author Diana Gabaldon.
Sam appeared on the Tonight Show on Thursday night, and even teased Jimmy that gin might be next for his Sassenach Select spirit company.
However, the most exciting thing Sam teased is that he knows the ending of Outlander and that information is just sitting in his inbox.
Jimmy started up the interview: “Let’s talk Outlander. Season six premieres on Sunday.
“People cannot wait.
“In fact, when you’re off people call it ‘The Droughtlander’.
“People really miss the show.”
Sam jokes: “Yeah, each year the Droughtlander gets slightly longer.
“This year, the break has been almost two years between our seasons.
“I think we are just testing our fans. Next time it will be a decade.”
Affronted by the suggestion, Jimmy shuts down the idea of a decade wait for fans telling Sam he can’t do that.
“You know, it’s based off some amazing books, amazing writing,” the Tonight Show host praises.
Sam gushes: “Diana Gabaldon, thank you Diana.
“She’s written this amazing series. She’s on book 10, we’re about to do book seven in season seven so we’ve still got a bit of a way to go.”
Now, Jimmy asks the all important question everyone is dying to know: “Do you know how it ends?”
Sam responds: “I do, I know how it ends.”
While Jimmy jokes: “See I don’t know if you’re lying to me or acting.”
The Outlander actor tells the show: “No, she revealed to me the ending a long time ago actually.”
“So she’s written the ending but not written it. It’s in her head?” Jimmy asked Sam, before he quipped back: “Yeah it’s in her head and my email chain.”
Well, the Scotsman will certainly be hoping he doesn’t fall victim to any email hacking.
