The Rings Of Power Season 3 Adds 3 New Cast Members, Including An Andor Star

Prime Video now confirms that Andrew Richardson, Zubin Varla, and Adam Young are joining the cast. Richardson will be a series regular while Varla and Young play recurring roles, and all other character details are being kept under wraps. In addition to being an Olivier Award-winning actor, Varla played Xanwan, a citizen of Ferrix and friend to Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) in season 1 of the critically acclaimed Star Wars series Andor. Young appeared in multiple episodes of the Apple TV+ show Masters of the Air while Richardson has primarily starred in stage productions, including for the Royal Shakespeare Company.
What This Means For The Rings Of Power
The Cast Continues To Expand

The additions of Richardson, Varla, and Young is another sign of how the fantasy show’s scope continues to expand. The Rings of Power season 2 ending features the beginning of Rivendell, Sauron now possessing the Nine Rings of Men, and the Stranger (Daniel Weyman) being confirmed as Gandalf. One or more of the new actors may be involved in these game-changing storylines as the fates of Middle-earth and Númenor are forever altered.
Our Take On The Rings Of Power Season 3’s Newest Cast Members
Zubin Varla Is A Particularly Exciting Addition
While the addition of all three cast members is promising, I am particularly excited by Varla’s inclusion. Even though he only has a handful of scenes throughout four episodes in Andor season 1, Varla helps make Xan a memorable character, including when he has to tell Cassian what happened to Maarva (Fiona Shaw), and Xan has a satisfying arc of his own. I am intrigued to see who Varla will play and the presence he will bring to The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 3.
