The Rings of Power’s Morfydd Clark Addresses Galadriel and Sauron’s Season 2 Relationship

The Rings of Power Season 1 ended by revealing that Halbrand was actually Sauron, the former lieutenant of the Dark Lord Morgoth, in disguise. Since the character had grown close to Galadriel, fans have been wondering how it would affect their relationship going forward.

Speaking to Screen Rant, Morfydd Clark, who plays Galadriel in the series, offered a little insight into what Season 2 holds for the characters. “I’m always very scared to tease,” the actor said. “I would just say the mortal enemies hate each other even more than before, and they’re looking even better than they ever did,” she added without giving too much away.

Galadriel has been convinced of Sauron’s return even during the early episodes of Ring of Power. After Sauron tricked her by pretending to be Halbrand and then offering her place at his side, her hatred for him grew. As she plots to defeat him, Sauron will likely be forced to retaliate. This may complicate matters when it comes to carrying out his original plans.

With The Rings of Power Season 2 premiere just a few weeks away, Prime Video released a promotional poster to hype the series. The image sees Clark’s Lady Galadriel wearing her elven Ring of Power, Nenya. Also known as the Ring of Adamant and the Ring of Water, Nenya is made of mithril metal and set with a white stone of adamant.

Season 2 Chronicles The Rise of Sauron

Per the official synopsis, Season 2 is “based on J. R. R. Tolkien’s history of Middle-earth, primarily material from the appendices of the novel The Lord of the Rings. Set thousands of years before the novel in the Second Age of Middle-earth, the story will follow the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron and the creation of more Rings of Power.”

Head of Amazon MGM Studios Television, Vernon Sanders, previously shared his excitement for the series, saying, “I think it’s a season that absolutely builds on the momentum of Season 1, and it takes the show to really exciting places. We are really bullish but humble about Season 2. So we want everyone to give it a watch. We think there’s just incredible stuff. Just the performances alone are breathtaking.”
