The Rookie Showrunner Definitively Reveals if Chenford Gets Back Together in Season 8

The Rookie showrunner finally gives fans a definitive update on the status of the show’s hottest couple.
“Beyond that, I’m not 100% sure yet,” Hawley added. He also discussed whether both characters are on the same page regarding potentially moving in with one another, noting that “That’ll be the question rolling into Season 8.” Regarding the wider scope of the relationship between Chen and Bradford over the course of The Rookie‘s past couple of seasons, Hawley said, “I do think that we’ve put those characters through a lot on their journey back, and I think we’re almost there.”
O’Neil’s Chen and Winter’s Bradford have been fan-favorites since The Rookie debuted back in 2018. The series stars Nathan Fillion as John Nolan, a middle-aged single dad who embarks upon a new career with the Los Angeles Police Department after living through a brazen mid-day bank robbery as a civilian. The series also stars Richard T. Jones, Shawn Ashmore, Mekia Cox, and Alyssa Diaz, and has played home to a whole host of guest stars ranging from SNL alum Pete Davidson to comedian Flula Borg in the hit role of Skip Tracer Randy.
What Other Developments Can The Rookie Fans Look Forward to In Season 8?

The Rookie Season 8 is set to mark the beginning of numerous new storylines for a wide variety of characters. While Chen and Bradford will be repairing their romantic relationship, Deric Augustine’s Miles Penn will be getting the promotion from recurring character to regular cast member. Augustine made his debut as Penn on the Season 7 episode, “The Shot,” which introduced him as a confident if somewhat oblivious two-year veteran officer who made the move to Los Angeles from Texas.
