Brian Cox became worldwide popular after starring in Succession as Logan Roy, a character that tremendously affected his career and his interaction with fans.

Brian Cox shares weird fan encounters after playing Logan Roy
Brian Cox enjoyed a quiet yet successful career for decades, but after he appeared in Succession, he lost the most precious thing to him—his privacy. The immense popularity of the HBO series catapulted him to Hollywood stardom, and in no time, he experienced the most bizarre things he could ever imagine.
In his conversation with The iPaper, he admitted fame was a bittersweet thing after realizing he had completely lost his anonymity. Before he became well-known, people used to give him confused stares, but now that he no longer has to introduce himself, he gets bizarre requests from fans: “They ask me to tell them to f**k off, or do one of those Logan things. It’s weird.”
Cox said it’s not an easy thing to say to people, especially those he didn’t know. It first happened when he was performing in a New York theater, and a young couple approached him on his way out and asked him to say his iconic phrase while taking a video.

The worst incident happened in Los Angeles when he was attending a #MeToo event. In his interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he shared:
I was standing at the back and then [the women] all turned around and saw me and they [pointed a] camera and said, ‘Can you tell us to f**k off?’ I was like, ‘This is a #MeToo meeting, is this really proper to be asking me to tell you to f**k off?
It seems like he can never escape from the shadow of Logan Roy, just as how it is for actors who have played super iconic roles on screen that became their lifetime legacies.
Brian Cox laments about losing his privacy due to fame

The fame that came with playing the intimidating Logan Roy was not without repercussions. Cox has mixed feelings towards the success of the show because being a major celebrity also meant having paparazzi outside his residence ready to take his photos.
The 78-year-old multi-awarded actor told The Guardian that he has never experienced anything like this. “I mean, you ask for success in your work, and you get it, and then you have to deal with the consequences,” he lamented. Not only did he lose his privacy, but he also had to deal with odd requests from fans.
