‘We’ve Got Each Other’s Backs’: 9 Rare Behind-the-Scenes Photos of the ‘Outlander’ Cast Through the Years

Ahead of Season 8, look back on some on-set memories!
After seven seasons and over a decade on the air, it’s fair to say that the cast of Outlander have gotten rather familiar with both their characters and their fellow castmates. Now, as we anticipate the eighth and final season of the epic historical drama, as well as an all new prequel series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, we can’t help but feel nostalgic for the early days of Claire and Jamie’s love story, and think fondly about the additional faces we grew to know and love along the way. Here, take a peek at a few rare, behind-the-scenes photos from the Outlander set over the years. The love this cast has for each other is clear!
We love Caitríona as Claire!

Caitríona Balfe has been bringing the character of Claire Fraser to life since the show’s first episode, and her portrayal of the leading lady is one we will always love. Did you know that prior to acting, she was a Victoria’s Secret model? A woman of many talents!
The ‘Outlander’ set is full of laughs

Though much of the show’s subject matter can be dark and heavy, that’s not to say that the actors and actresses who have brought this show to life over the years don’t have any fun when the cameras aren’t rolling! Here, Graham McTavish pulls an animated face while standing amongst his fellow Outlander actors.
Bloodied and bruised never looked so good!

When it comes to hunky historical fiction heroes, not many hold a candle to Jamie Fraser, who Sam Heughan has been bringing to life for over a decade.
Selfie time!

While the love story between Claire and Jamie is one we can’t get enough of, when the cameras aren’t rolling, Sam Heughan and Caitríona Balfe remain close friends! “It’s a remarkable journey that we’ve been on, starting this together, being thrown in the deep end and being like, Okay! We’re going to do this together,” Heughan told Elle back in 2017. “It’s a nice bond and I think people are fascinated by it, in a weird way—I know the fans are. We respect each other and have got each other’s backs. I’m very fortunate that we have that, it’s great.”
