M.I.A ‘Where is she?!’ demand Coronation Street fans as character ‘disappears’ – fuming soap bosses have ‘let her down’

Coronation Street fans have been left fuming after soap bosses appeared to scrub one character from the screen.

Viewers of the ITV soap opera have been left questioning the whereabouts of Yasmeen Nazir after little-to-no appearances since the turn of the New Year on Coronation Street.

Played by Shelley King, the character featured heavily on the show across 2020 and 2021 thanks to her role in the soap’s biggest storyline of the time – the abuse of Yasmeen by ex husband Geoff Metcalfe.

Geoff coercivly controlled Yasmeen which left her a quivering wreck.

He subjected her to his cruel ways as he nastily locked her inside of one of his magic trick boxes as well as forcing her to eat her own dead chicken, Charlotte Bronte.

Upon Geoff’s death, Yasmeen slowly began to get back to her old self and eventually met future partner Stu Carpenter.

Although their romance has not been without its tests, Yasmeen and Stu have attempted to build a strong family unit with one another despite his lies surrounding his granddaughter, Eliza.

Her fleeting appearances have left fans feeling ‘let down’ after she went from one of the show’s most popular characters to being seldom seen.

It has caused that much worry and panic amongst the Coronation Street fanbase that a mock missing poster for the Speed Daal owner has been created and shared online.

One concerned fan posted: “The Speed Daal Queen is nowhere to be seen… yet we’ve seen Alya about.”

Some fans were quick to point out just what had gone wrong with her character as they blasted her pairing with Stu.

Someone said: “She really has been let down being paired with Stu.”

Another echoed: “Yesss Stu is such a drain, I really dislike him.”

Expressing their desire for Yasmeen’s character to be built back up and for the loving gran to be placed in a more suitable character duo.

They said: “If the Geoff storyline taught us anything, it’s that given decent materials and good actors to work with, Yasmeen’s a great actress.”

As another echoed: “Exactly! She’s wonderful with the right writing!”
