Frasier Reboot Brings Back Another Original Series Alum for Season 2

The upcoming second season of the Frasier reboot looks set to feature another OG reunion as the updated sitcom adds another original cast member. The Paramount revival sees Frasier Crane link up with his agent from the show’s first run.

Per Variety, the Frasier reboot confirmed two new additions to its Season 2 cast, one of them being Harriet Sansom Harris. Harris portrayed Frasier’s agent, Bebe Glazer, in the original Frasier series and will star in a guest role during the revival’s upcoming season. Meanwhile, Golden Globe-winning actor Rachel Bloom, known for starring in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Julia, will portray Bebe’s daughter, Phoebe.

The revival describes the returning Bebe as “delightfully devilish” and “one of the show’s most iconic characters.” The reboot also shows how Bebe is “known for her dramatic flair and outrageous Machiavellian maneuvers. Bebe will stop at nothing to get what she wants.” Meanwhile, Phoebe “inherited her mother’s indomitable charm,” and “boasts a magnetic personality as well as a taste for the finer things.”

Several Frasier Stars Return for the New Series

Harris joins fellow original series alums, Dan Butler and Edward Hibbert, in Season 2, with Butler and Hibbert reprising their respective roles as Frasier’s former KACL colleagues, Bob “Bulldog” Briscoe and Gil Chesterton. The upcoming season will also see Peri Gilpin return as Frasier’s friend and former co-worker Roz Doyle in a recurring role after she made a guest appearance in Season 1. Harris featured in 11 episodes throughout the original series’ 11-year run. The Tony Award-winning star is also known for featuring as Felicia Tilman in Desperate Housewives and most recently featured in the Starz satirical comedy, Shining Vale. She also has big-screen roles in Memento, Americana and the shelved Disney flick, Magazine Dreams.

The Season 2 cast also added a plethora of fresh faces to the Frasier family, including Community star Yvette Nicole Brown, who will play Olivia’s (Tok Olagundoye) sister Monica, Patricia Heaton, who will portray Frasier’s potential love interest, and Amy Sedaris as Dr “Doc” Stathos, a Frasier-loving therapist. Meanwhile, Grammer’s daughter and fellow actor, Greer Grammer, will portray Roz’s grown-up daughter Alice. Season 2 of the reboot is currently in production in Los Angeles.

Season 2 of the Frasier reboot continues the eponymous radio psychiatrist and talk show host-turned-professor’s “third act” as he settles down during his return to Boston, the home of Cheers. Grammer recently signalled his intent to add Cheers co-stars to the reboot cast at some point, including Shelley Long and Ted Danson. Season 2 will also feature the returning Nicholas Lyndhurst, Jack Cutmore-Scott, Anders Keith and Jess Salgueiro.
