Coronation Street spoilers: Sarah breaks down as baby’s father is finally confirmed
Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) was furious in Wednesday’s (July 26) Coronation Street as she discovered Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) had her paternity test results after previously throwing them in a bin.
Sarah did this a few days ago, shortly after she learnt that Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) had a panic attack while in court.
During a conversation, Adam misunderstood his wife when she said that he didn’t need to worry about the DNA test.
Adam thought that she meant the results had come back and confirmed that he’s the baby’s father, but Sarah was just being kind and told him not to think about it as she didn’t want him to get stressed again.
That evening, Sarah was seen in Victoria Garden with the unopened letter. She tore it up and threw it in the bin, prepared to let Adam believe that he’s the baby’s father when it could be Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths).
Adam’s paranoia crept in again tonight when he joined Gail (Helen Worth) and Sarah for another scan.
The sonographer explained that Sarah should have a genetic diseases test but when Adam and Gail said they didn’t need to worry because of their family history, Sarah was awash with anxiety, clearly fearing that the test could come back and confirm the baby has inherited something from Damon’s side of the family.
Returning home, Sarah was on hand to help Stephen, who had his belongings thrown out of the Redbank flat by Tim (Joe Duttine) following the ordeal with Elaine (Paula Wilcox).
Helping her Uncle, Sarah then established Stephen had got his grubby hands on her paternity letter.
He span a massive lie and said that he saw Sarah bin it and assumed it was something to do with Underworld, but also helped her with realising that she needed to find out the answer and face the truth.
Elsewhere, while in the pub talking to Daniel (Rob Mallard), Adam began to struggle with his breathing and rushed out, experiencing another panic attack as he struggled with his stress and emotions.
As Adam chatted about his lack of trust towards Sarah, she was in Victoria Garden with Stephen, finally opening the letter.
Sarah burst into tears and was comforted by Stephen, with the look on her face suggesting that Damon is more than likely the dad after all.
Returning home, Adam told Sarah about the panic attack and admitted that because he’s struggling to rebuild trust, he’s going to ask the clinic for written confirmation on the DNA test.
With the letter on its way, will Sarah get to it first – or is this the moment Adam finds out that she’s lied again?
