Chicago PD season 13 episode 11 drops pregnancy shocker: Find out which couple is expecting!
It seems the Chicago PD family is about to grow in an unexpected way! The eleventh episode of Chicago PD ended with a major bombshell with one character revealing they’re pregnant and one member of the Intelligence Unit is about to become a parent.
Warning: Spoilers ahead for Chicago PD season 13, episode 11, “On the Way.”
Heading into episode 11, we knew it was going to be a big episode for Officer Kevin Atwater. What we did not expect was that the episode’s title carried a double meaning. Not only was the episode title a reference to the undercover operation Atwater led in the episode as he worked to bring down a carjacking ring; it was also a reference to a surprise pregnancy reveal with a baby officially “on the way.”
As the episode closed out, Atwater received a surprise visit from his former police academy friend turned romantic interest Tasha Fox, who made a trip to Chicago to see him after he reached out earlier in the episode. We thought Tasha’s return was going to be the big closing moment of the episode, until she revealed to Atwater that their night together resulted in her pregnancy.
Tasha admitted that at first, she needed time to process whether this was something she wanted. After taking some time to think things through, she realized she wants to have the baby, no matter whether Atwater is in their lives or not. It seems she was uncertain of whether he might have any interest in being involved until he reached out which prompted her to open up to him about the pregnancy.
“I’m pregnant and I should have told you before, but I just wanted to see what I wanted before I told you,” Tasha admitted. “I thought a lot about it and I want this baby. Whether you’re in our lives or not, I want this baby and that’s not going to change. Then you reached out, so I thought maybe. Kevin, you okay?”
While Atwater did not respond verbally, the smile on his face said it all as it’s clear he’s excited about the prospect of becoming a father – not that we’re surprised. Atwater has already been a father figure to his younger siblings and there is no doubt in our minds that he’s going to be an amazing father to his and Tasha’s baby.
The one thing we’re unsure of is how exactly the couple is going to make this relationship work, what with Tasha working out of Miami and Atwater being a part of the Chicago PD team. This is sure to come into play as the season continues and we’re just hoping it’s not a storyline designed to pave the way for Atwater to leave the show by moving to Miami to raise the baby together with Tasha in Miami.
