Crowley & Aziraphale Character Designs Revealed for New Record-Breaking Good Omens Adaptation
Meet the new Crowley and Aziraphale, as Colleen Doran’s Good Omens adaptation gets closer, showcasing its unique style separate to Amazon’s TV show.
As Good Omens gets its own graphic-novel adaptation, fans can officially meet the comic versions of beloved heroes Crowley and Aziraphale. However, Crowley and Aziraphale’s graphic novel interpretations will not take inspiration from their Good Omens TV show counterparts, and with good reason. Following a record-breaking Kickstarter campaign, the project has officially been green lit with almost ten times its starting goal, and fans should see its take on the beloved angel and demon.
As per posts shared via her official Facebook fan page, Colleen Doran revealed Crowley and Aziraphale’s designs for the Good Omens graphic novel. Those who are familiar with the original novel will notice how strikingly faithful these depictions are to how both characters are respectively described in the book.
Doran’s character models are packed with character details, such as the colors that define each character, and details about their heights, style, and even Aziraphale’s angelic form.

Why Colleen Doran is Not Using Good Omens Show as an Influence
While the TV adaptation starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen has been wildly popular, Doran’s graphic novel adaptation is of the original novel, and so won’t be using the actors’ likenesses. Indeed, Doran previously said she has gone out of her way to distance herself from Amazon’s Good Omens, so much so that she immediately stopped watching when she found out she would be on the project.
At the same time, Doran has clarified that the new Good Omens adaptation won’t be fan service, as the definitive graphic novel version shouldn’t be defined by opinions around the so-far incomplete Amazon version. While the characters in the show are not too different from how they are supposed to look based on the books, their differences are significant enough that their graphic novel iterations stand out as something substantially different from the show. Aziraphale’s cosmic homebody radiates an endearing stuffiness, while Aziraphale is a demon who clearly enjoys the creature comforts of Earth enough to try and stop the final reckoning between Heaven and Hell.

It is wholly impressive to see just how dedicated Colleen Doran is when it comes to differentiating her version of the material from the TV show. It’d be very easy for her to lean further into the Amazon Prime version given how recent and popular it is, but fans who have been waiting since the book released in 1990 deserve a faithful vision with its own style. Some fans thought they’d never get to see Good Omens reimagined in such compelling ways, but thanks to Amazon’s adaptation and Colleen Doran, they’re getting two totally different takes on the beloved novel in quick succession.
