Homeland’s Claire Danes and Hannibal’s Hugh Dancy welcome third child

Congratulations are in order for Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy, after the safe arrival of their third child.

It has been reported that the Homeland and Hannibal stars, who tied the knot back in 2009, recently welcomed their new daughter to the world, who joins their young sons, Rowan and Cyrus, according to PEOPLE.

The award-winning actress revealed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this year that the latest little one came as a “surprise” to both of them, stressing “this pregnancy happened to me, but we’re thrilled!”

However, it seems four-year-old Rowan was “less than thrilled” about the impending arrival of another sibling, with his older brother “sort of resigned” to the idea.

Danes joked: “I mean, the worst [for Cyrus] has already happened… his name is Rowan. But Rowan has more to lose, he has more at stake.

“He said, ‘Yeah, no, no. I don’t like it. I don’t like it. I like peace, mama.’ I was like, ‘You like peace?’ That’s rich, because that dude does not shut up!”

She added: “He said, ‘When it comes out of your tummy, we’ll give it to a family that doesn’t have a baby… ’cause we’re done.’ So no, he was less than thrilled.”

In the end, the pregnant star diplomatically explained to her youngest that “when the baby comes out, it’s gonna be pretty dumb, doesn’t know a lot, so it’s gonna need some assistance and some educating.

“That was interesting to him, he liked the idea of being sort of a condescending presence,” Danes continued, “so now he’s a little more optimistic”.

Danes and Dancy have not yet confirmed the little one’s name, or given any details about her arrival.
