House Of The Dragon Leaks: Everything Revealed About Season 2
With anticipation high for the Game of Thrones prequel series’ return, there have been some House of the Dragon leaks that potentially spoil season 2.
Despite best efforts from HBO and Warner Bros. to keep the show’s production as tight and secretive as possible, House of the Dragon leaks for season 2 have inevitably made their way online. Based on George R.R. Martin’s novel, Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon takes place about 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and follows a group of characters, most notably King Viserys I Targaryen, Daemon Targaryen, Rhaenyra Targaryen, Otto Hightower, Alicent Hightower, and Rhaenys Targaryen, and how their decisions, political backstabbing, and inner conflicts lead to the Targaryen civil war, known as the Dance of the Dragons.
The House of the Dragon season 1 finale ended with the Dance of the Dragons about to commence, with season 2 shaping up to be even bloodier as the black and green dragonriders go to war with each other. There will no doubt be major casualties in the show’s sophomore installment, with the stakes higher than ever before. For fans of spoilers, this makes the House of the Dragon season 2 leaks even more interesting, as they give some idea of the direction the show will go in, as it’s likely season 2 won’t come out until 2024.
Alys Rivers Will Be In House Of The Dragon Season 2
On February 14th, 2023, a two-part audition video featuring 1899 star Emma Beecham was posted on Vimeo, and while it since has been taken down by Warner Bros., the audition tape showcased Beecham reading for a character that was codenamed “AR” (via Redanian Intelligence). In the audition tape, Beecham’s “AR” character appears to be some sort of healer and is sarcastically speaking to a man who just took over the castle she lived in. Since this video was leaked, many have speculated that this mysterious “AR” character is actually Alys Rivers.
This was confirmed in April when it was announced that Alys Rivers was going to appear in House of the Dragon season 2, though Gayle Rankin was ultimately cast in the role (via Variety). In Fire & Blood, Alys Rivers is a wet nurse at Harrenhal and is rumored to secretly be a witch who can see the future. She is the illegitimate daughter of Lyonel Strong, the former Lord of Harrenhal and Hand of the King to Viserys I Targaryen. In the Dance of the Dragons, she is the only member of House Strong who was spared when the greens retook Harrenhal, later becoming Aemond Targaryen’s mistress.
House Of The Dragon Season 2 Will Feature A Major Death
In May 2023, a Twitter/X image from the House of the Dragon season 2 set was posted, and it depicted a giant cart that was carrying an object wrapped in blue tarpaulin. The cart is seen on a location set in Spain where a scene that takes place in King’s Landing was filmed. Many have speculated that the object being carried around in the cart is supposed to be the head of the dragon Meleys, since Meleys would later be killed in the Dance of the Dragons civil war (via Sportskeeda).

Called “the Red Queen”, Meleys is Rhaenys Targaryen’s dragon. In Fire & Blood, Rhaenys and Meleys were killed in a battle for Rook’s Rest by Aemond and Aegon II, but since Rhaenys’ body was never found after the battle, Meleys’ head was instead cut off and taken back to King’s Landing as a symbol of victory against Rhaenyra and her army. Considering this important plot point from the book, it is speculated that this cart with the blue tarpaulin means that Rhaenys and Meleys will be killed off in House of the Dragon season 2.
