One of Chicago Fire’s bosses revealed whether Stella and Kelly’s relationship will survive upcoming struggles

Since Chicago Fire premiered, the show has introduced many actors and characters that its loyal viewers have grown to be deeply invested in. However, there is no doubt that Kelly Severide and Stella Kidd are two characters that many of the show’s viewers care about more than most. That is why there was interest in when Severide’s actor, Taylor Kinney, recently starred in a fake movie.
Of course, the thing that fans of those two characters care the most about is the storylines that Kidd and Severide get wrapped up in on the show. Most of all, there are many viewers who care deeply about whether the couple will stay together for a long time and find happiness. That is why it is so interesting to learn about what one of Chicago Fire’s executive producers and directors recently said about whether Severide and Kelly will survive the upcoming drama they will face.

A Chicago Fire boss revealed Kelly Severide and Stella Kidd’s relationship will survive some upcoming trials
In December 2025, TV Line interviewed one of Chicago Fire’s executive producers, Reza Tabrizi. In addition to working on the show as an executive producer, he has had a major impact on the TV drama since he has directed many of the show’s episodes. On IMDb, Tabrizi has been credited with directing 158 Chicago Fire episodes as of the time, which is more than half of the series’ entire run.
When Chicago Fire’s last episode to date aired, Stella Kidd had traveled to Cleveland with the couple’s foster son, Isaiah, to help his mother begin the process of getting treatment in a new rehab facility. That turned out to be awful timing, as now Kelly Severide has become the victim of arson after he got stuck in a burning building with fans waiting to learn about his fate. Needless to say, it would be ideal if Severide could turn to Kidd in his moment of need since Tabrizi hinted to TV Line that he will survive.
“Anytime Severide’s been in a pickle, Stella’s been there for him. How’s she’s going to do that from far away while she has a responsibility to Isaiah and the promises that she’s made to [him]?”
Of course, just because it seems clear that Severide will survive the fire he was trapped in, that doesn’t inherently mean that his marriage will remain intact after dealing with the potential fallout.
However, TV Line’s article states that Tabrizi assured them that while Kidd and Severide’s relationship will face new challenges and a different dynamic, their marriage will survive it all. For fans that have seen all they’ve overcome, including a brutal twist at the start of this season, it makes sense that their marriage won’t falter over their current situation.
