One Thing Fans Want Jenna Ortega to Change in Wednesday Now That She’s EP
The Wednesday star has already tweaked several things in the first season, and now she will have even more power.
The Addams-Family-based show really took the world by storm since it had landed on Netflix. The huge fan base was created literally over the night!
But despite the common love towards the show and the main character, they still found some aspects in Tim Burton’s creation they wanted to be changed asap. And there they’ve got… Jenna Ortega to the rescue!
The actress had already told different media that she frequently changed her lines in the show, “not to sound two-dimensional”, as she explained. She also used to disagree a lot with the writers of the show.
“I don’t think I’ve ever had to put my foot down on a set in a way that I had to on Wednesday, because it’s so easy to fall into that category, especially with this type of show. Everything that she does, everything that I had to play, did not make sense for her character at all,’ she shared on Armchair Expert podcast.
The thing that was driving Jenna crazy most of all was the love triangle position her character was put in. From her point of view, that storyline barely made sense in the series.
And fans couldn’t agree more. So when the news about Ortega becoming the series’ new executive producer came out, the Internet exploded with tweets like “we won, no more triangle” and “please kill the love triangle”.
Although there are a lot of fans, who want more than just that. And they give Wednesday two options: no love interest at all or… the Wenclair idea.
As the genre goes, fans are shipping Ortega’s character with her friend Enid Sinclair (that’s where the ship name “Wenclair” comes from), and frankly, with so many people worshiping this idea, we now may think that it’s not that impossible to see in season 2.
“Same actress who said “maybe wednesday is just in love with enid” yeah!” Twitter user lavendergaysz remembered.
Jenna grew so protective of her character, that she even argued with writers about the things she would never say in the series.
For example, there was a line about the iconic black dress she wore to the ball. While speaking during a Netflix Q&A, she said:
‘I remember there’s a line where I’m talking about a dress and initially she was supposed to say: “Oh my God I’m freaking out over a dress, I literally hate myself.”‘
But as we already know, Wednesday is not the one to actually freak out over a dress, let alone admit it.
So thanks to Jenna Ortega’s new role in the series, fans are getting their hopes up for more good writing and less “nonsense” storylines.
