Pedro Pascal supports Bo-Katan taking over as lead in The Mandalorian
The Mandalorian is one of the most popular series on the Disney+ streaming service and Pedro Pascal has been discussing its future.
For some, the recent third series of The Mandalorian was a bit hit and miss. It certainly didn’t capture the same spark as the previous two seasons, in my opinion. However, it did have some epic moments such as an Emmy award-deserving performance from everyone’s favourite animatronic puppet, Din Grogu – as well as an incredible redemption story for one of Star Wars’ most neglected characters (kind of) and fans were floored by season three’s final scene.
One of the bright sparks in the series so far has been the introduction of Bo-Katan Kryze, legendary Mandalorian, princess of House Kryze and leader of the Nite Owls. It took a while before we saw the character on a consistent basis. Thankfully that all changed in the third season when Bo-Katan would not only form a strong bond with Din Djarin and Din Grogu but also with their Mandalorian creed. I won’t give too much away to avoid spoilers, but following the third season of The Mandalorian, it looks like Bo-Katan is here to stay for a while and Pedro Pascal is all for that.
As reported by IGN (via Variety), Pascal revealed that he’d love to see Katee Sackhoff’s version of Bo-Katan carry the mantle or perhaps even have her own series one day. “I think [the heavy focus on Bo-Katan] was great in that it also brings into full realisation a beloved character that is from the world of Dave Filoni,” said Pascal.
“Everyone gets to experience the excitement of [Bo-Katan] being introduced,” the actor continued. “And she’s a badass and it’s perfect casting. And I am a big Battlestar Galactica fanboy. I just think it was perfect that we get to meet and see the character, and she gets to do cool s**t in the second season. And then, she gets to take centre stage in the third. It’s what I would want for the character and as a fan of The Clone Wars.”
I can’t wait to hopefully see more of Bo-Katan in season four of The Mandalorian. Better still, we’ll be having our fingers crossed for a standalone series. At the time of writing, season four of The Mandalorian on Disney+ does not have a release date confirmed.
