Power Ghost’s Michael Rainey Jr drops exclusive season 4 filming update

Power Book II star Michael Rainey Jr has hinted at when fans can expect to see season four of the crime-drama drop.

After the success of all the Power universe shows, it was inevitable that the show’s first spin-off, Power Book II would get the green light to continue its story into season four.

Since the renewal announcement, most details surrounding Power Book II have been kept under wraps.

However, fans have now been given an exclusive season four filming update, thanks to Tariq himself – Michael Rainey Jr.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Rainey Jr confirmed that season four may be here sooner than we think.

While the cast is still in the stages of production, Rainey Jr reassured fans that there is “something to look forward to after season three is over”.

After there was a huge 16-month hiatus between Power Book II seasons two and three, Rainey Jr remains positive fans won’t have to endure another long wait between this season and the next.

Remaining hopeful, the actor explained: “And hopefully, hopefully, the wait for season four isn’t as long as the wait was for season three.”

That wasn’t the only thing Rainey Jr teased when it came to the future of the hit crime drama.

In fact, the actor sees his character’s spin-off series going on for “50 years”.

“I want to take this 50 years,” he joked as he continued: “But, like, realistically I feel like we have a good amount of time still.”

Jokes aside, Rainey Jr insisted: “We will be here for a good amount of time.”

When it comes to the current season of Power Book II, things are quickly heating up, as Tariq and his crew push more product than ever to keep Noma (Caroline Chikezie) off their backs.

This week’s episode titled, The Land of Opportunity, will see the Tejadas and Davis (Method Man) discuss how they’re going to handle Whitman (Jeff Hephner).

Meanwhile, Dru (Lovell Adams-Gray) sets up a risky deal with the help of a family friend to ensure the business keeps flowing.

Following the death of Zeke (Daniel Bellomy) in season two, Monet still appears to be coming to terms with losing him as she endlessly tries to find out who killed him.

Fans can also expect to see more of Power Book II’s newcomer character Noma, who Rainey Jr previously called “crazy”.

As the actor explained “there’s a lot” for fans to enjoy “this season” as he hinted at some new things on the horizon.

Fans will have already got a taste of what Noma is about following her opening scene, but Rainey Jr did try to warn fans before the show premiered, saying: “She’s coming in crazy like she’s devious is like her introduction to the show is just straight. Craziness.”
