Rings of Power: Morfydd Clark teases season 2 of Lord of the Rings show

The rings from the film series are set to appear

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power star Morfydd Clark has teased developments for season two of the fantasy show.

In The Rings of Power, Clark plays Galadriel, one of the few characters who also appeared in the film series set thousands of years later.

Talking at a for your consideration event in Hollywood, Clark revealed a big development for the show: “She’s about to have a life-changing thing happen to her. She’s about to become acquainted with Nenya, her ring. It’s really exciting to see how the magic creeps in.”

Nenya is one of the three elven rings that were forged at the end of season one and in Tolkien lore is one of the powerful rings seen in the trilogy of books and films.

Clark added in a conversation with Deadline: “When we finished Season 1, the rings were being made and we knew it was going to be a huge change for Middle Earth. [Galadriel] is going to be part of that change because she has her own ring.”

Of the three rings forged so far in the show, one will be worn by Galadriel, another will be shared by Elrond and Gil-Galad and the other is worn by Cirdan, who will be introduced in season 2 and Gandalf who many fans speculate is the real identity of The Stranger.

The Rings of Power premiered last September to record viewing figures for Prime Video. Amazon said that the first episode was watched by 25 million people globally within its first 24 hours and that 100 million people had watched it by December.

Recent reports claimed that only 37% of viewers in the US viewers finished the entire series and only 45% of worldwide viewers.
