The Boys star Claudia Doumit, who plays Congresswoman Victoria Neuman reveals that new spinoff Gen V will set up events in season 4 of Prime Video’s hit satirical superhero series. Based on Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s comic book of the same name, The Boys follows two groups, The Seven, Vought’s leading superhero team, and The Boys, vigilantes who are looking to fight the former and expose them for the fake heroes they are. The show premiered in July 2019 to mass and critical acclaim and in a bid to further expand The Boys universe, Amazon Prime ordered a live-action spinoff Gen V, which is due for release later this month.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly conducted prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike, Doumit, who will feature in Gen V, reveals that the show will help set up The Boys season 4. She also advises viewers of the franchise to watch Gen V before diving into the forthcoming season of The Boys in order to get better context. Read her full comments below:
“It was great to shoot Gen V because they tee up a lot of stuff that’s going to happen in season 4 for The Boys. Gen V lays a lot of the groundwork and a lot of the foundations that season 4 will be built on for The Boys. So, watch it because it gives you a lot of information.”
What Else Do We Know About The Boys Season 4
Amazon Prime recommissioned The Boys for a new season in June 2022, shortly before the season 3 finale aired. Filming of the new season reportedly wrapped up in early April and there were suggestions that it might arrive sometime in late 2023 or early 2024. These rumors were however dispelled when show creator Eric Krikpe announced on his Twitter account that The Boys season 4 is delayed until further notice due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike. As of the time of writing, there’s no office release date for season 4.
The cast of The Boys season 4 will see Butcher (Karl Urban), Homelander (Antony Starr) Starlight (Erin Moriarty), and Hughie (Jack Quaid) all return along with Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon),b Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara), The Deep (Chace Crawford), A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott), Ashley Barrett (Colby Minifie), and the aforementioned Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit).
While there has been no official confirmation of plot details for The Boys season 4, the season 3 finale gives a fairly good idea of what to expect. Also, with the new spinoff Gen V due for release September 29, viewers of the show will be able to figure out more of what to expect from the highly anticipated forthcoming season.
