The Rookie Setting Up a Shocking Villain Reveal in Season 6 Finale?

It looks like the Season 6 finale is going to be incredibly epic.

For all its flaws, The Rookie remains an excellent procedural that continues to delight viewers with its balanced mix of police drama, action, and comedy. Based on the true story of an LAPD officer who joined the law enforcement in his mid-40s, the show centers on the department’s oldest rookie, John Nolan (Nathan Fillion), who finally gets the chance to become a training officer himself in Season 5. Despite the fact that the ABC series receives mediocre scores from critics, it is very popular among audiences, earning The Rookie not only a spin-off, Feds (unfortunately canceled due to WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes), but also a renewal for a new seventh season.

But for now, we still have three episodes of Season 6 to go, and the plot continues to develop rapidly, providing viewers with intriguing storylines that promise to shock fans closer to the finale. As such, we saw a hint at the beginning of the season that a new major villain was about to be revealed. But unfortunately, at this point, the true identity of the mastermind behind the current season’s criminal machinations is only a matter of speculation. However, one fan theory has made an extremely logical and consistent assumption, and the latest episode released so far may support it.

We must warn you that this article contains major spoilers for the latest developments in The Rookie Season 6. So before you read the rest of the following piece, we strongly recommend that you watch the seventh episode, which was released on April 30. Good luck!

Popular Fan Theory May Shed Light on Who the Villain Is

Picking up where the Season 5 finale left off, The Rookie Season 6 premiere saw the capture of Boyd Taylor (Kristian Bruun), supposedly the leader of a crime syndicate that robbed the Federal Reserve Bank in LA. However, Boyd was shot by a sniper, and someone much more powerful was behind it all. But who could it be?

In the same episode, ironically right after the mysterious mastermind threatened Monica Stevens in a phone call, a new character, Blair London, played by Danielle Campbell, was introduced. Blair is a psychiatrist for the LAPD who was assigned to Aaron Thorsen (Tru Valentino) to help him overcome his trauma after he was shot in the previous episode.

Fans have already noticed that something is amiss, as Blair is a bit too suspicious, especially considering her regular chance encounters with Aaron, especially at the bar (a rather odd situation considering the size of Los Angeles). Of course, the still inexperienced Aaron immediately assumed that Blair had feelings for him. And while she denied it, some viewers believe that she was actually trying to gain his trust.

Moreover, the latest episode suggests that Blair may indeed turn out to be a villain.

Last Episode May Be Proof

The main evidence in the new Episode 7 is that Tim Bradford (Eric Winter) is also seeing her for counseling after struggling with his painful breakup with Lucy Chen (Melissa O’Neil). Blair proves to be incredibly attentive to his feelings, and Tim decides to see the psychiatrist regularly.

While Blair hasn’t said anything suspicious yet, a villain who understands her enemy’s psyche could prove to be one of the most dangerous and fascinating in The Rookie’s history, and this theory is proven by the fact that she now has two main characters in her grip at once, after gaining their trust.
