Exclusive 9-1-1 season 7 finale preview clip shows Athena in ‘rage’ and Bobby in peril: I’ll ‘get him’

EW has a sneak peek at the final episode of the first responder drama’s first season since moving to ABC.

Is Peter Krause leaving 9-1-1?

His fire captain character Bobby Nash ended last week’s episode rescuing his wife, Athena (Angela Bassett), from their burning home — only to end up collapsing himself. Now, in a season 7 finale preview clip exclusive to Entertainment Weekly, Athena is in a state of shock and rage as she sits next to her unconscious husband’s hospital bed.

“I am here, baby. I hope you know that. I love you, Bobby Nash,” Athena says, before turning her attention to the man she presumes set their home on fire: Amir (Malcolm-Jamal Warner), a survivor of the fire Bobby accidentally set years ago whom Athena tried to convince to help Bobby move on past his guilt. “And I’m sorry I did this. I invited that man into our home without once thinking what that might do to him or what he might do to you. And I can’t even say that I don’t understand it. I understand it too well, because right now the only thing holding me upright is rage. So I promise you this: I’m going to be the one to get him. No one else. I’m going to do that for us.”

As Athena sets her revenge plan in motion, Bobby remains on a ventilator. But does that mean he’s being killed off the ABC drama?

“I live in this world where the language of the show is this comic book about first responders come to life and they live through these most gruesome accidents,” Krause tells EW. “A fire engine falling on Buck’s lower body, a rebar going all the way through Chimney’s head, Eddie being shot. It is just sort of been the language of the show. We’re like Wiley Coyote getting blown up by TNT and then bouncing away with a limp and some scratches and bruises.”
