Henry Cavill, man of taste, confirms he always picks Yennefer in The Witcher 3
The Witcher superfan and global film star Henry Cavill believes Geralt’s one true love is Yennefer.
No one ever has to debate whether The Witcher 3 is a good game, because it’s one of the best games of all time.
However, while its fans can always come together to talk about the phenomenal quests, the well-written villains and the disappointment of the live-action Netflix adaptation, something that divides them like nothing else is who Geralt’s heart truly belongs to.
There are two camps, Team Yennefer, and Team Triss. During The Witcher 3 players are given the choice as to who Geralt forms a relationship with and it’s driven a wedge in the fanbase ever since.
However weighing in on the debate is film star Henry Cavill, who as we all know is an enormous fan of the The Witcher books and video games. His dedication to the series even led to him playing a live-action Geralt in the Netflix show, arguably its only redeeming quality. Unfortunately, Cavill is officially off the cast and is to be replaced by Liam Hemsworth for season 4.
Cavill has gone on record to say whenever he replays The Witcher 3, something he does regularly, he always sides with Team Yennefer. His reasoning goes beyond simply picking a side though, as he believes the pair are made for each other on a fundamental level.
When asked for his take in an interview, Cavill said: “For me, when I played the games, and especially when I read the [Sapkowski’s] books, it’s always been… I feel true to Geralt’s core that it’s team Yennefer. Of course, the great thing about the games is that you can do whatever you want, but for me — even in the games — team Yennefer.”
He’s truly a man of culture, and one could argue hardly anyone knows Geralt more than the man who studied him for a live-action role, so it’s safe to say Yennefer is always the correct answer for who the witcher’s heart belongs to.
