Helen Flanagan seen ‘back’ on Coronation Street after addressing reason she ‘can’t’ return to ITV soap

Helen Flanagan shared a picture of herself ‘back’ on Coronation Street after sharing why she can’t return properly to the ITV soap. The actress shared a throwback snap to one of the last times she was on the famous cobbles.
As viewers of the long-running show know, Helen shot to fame playing Weatherfield’s Rosie Webster, the eldest daughter of former couple Kevin Webster and Sally Metcalfe. She joined the cast in 2000 when she was just nine years old.
In 2006, she was nominated for the award of Best Dramatic Performance from a Young Actor or Actress at the British Soap Awards and In 2007, she was nominated for Villain of the Year at the same awards, this time losing to Corrie co-star Jack P. Shepherd.
Bury-born Helen later left the soap in 2012 but she did return to the role in 2017, before going on maternity leave in June 2018, from which she did not return.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday (June 19), Helen reminisced about her last time on the famous street when she was pregnant with her second daughter, Delilah. In the beaming snap, the soap star could be seen outside Kevin’s garage, sporting a pink shirt and coast with black jeans and a matching pink bag.
“When I was preggers with Delilah-pops @coronationstreet,” Helen captioned the snap with a pink heart emoji. She then followed the post with a snap of her feet whilst pregnant, saying: “My feet and ankles were SO fat when I was pregnant,” adding a crying laughing emoji.
Last year, Helen, who shares Matilda, eight, Delilah, five and Charlie, three, with her ex-fiancé of 13 years Scott – said being a single parent leaves her with very little time for herself as she was quizzed on a possible return to Corrie.
Speaking to The Sun, Helen said at the time: “I would honestly love love love to go back [to Corrie] so much but I’m just so busy with the children, so I’ve got an eight year old, five year old and a two year old and because me and their daddy has separated and he lives five hours away with his work, it’s quite difficult with the balance.”
She continued: “I’d love to go back to Coronation Street but the hours are really long, no one thinks this but sometimes you can leave the house at five o’clock in the morning and you won’t get home until 9 o’clock at night.
“So Matilda is very sensitive and she loves her daddy, and she misses him when he’s away. I just kind of think of it, for me, when you’re a mum you have to put your children first, and I would love to go back but I think right now it wouldn’t be fair on them.”
