Coronation Street Gail Platt’s new exit storyline ‘exposed’ – and it’s ‘not a happy ending’
Coronation Street’s Martin Platt actor Sean Wilson recently quit the soap – and fans are now convinced Gail Platt’s exit storyline is set to include a heartbreaking death twist.
Coronation Street fans have “worked out” Gail Platt’s “rewritten” exit storyline following the news of Martin Platt actor Sean Wilson’s exit. Last month, it was confirmed that Martin Platt (Sean Wilson) was heading back to the cobbles as part of Gail Platt’s (Helen Worth) exit storyline – who is leaving after 50 years.
Martin, who was married to Gail, appeared on the soap from 1985 to 2005 and was last seen in Weatherfield six years ago. However, it was recently revealed that actor Sean has quit the soap. It has been claimed that the soap has been thrown into chaos following his exit – with Sean’s scenes no longer being aired.
Bosses are now said to be scrambling to rewrite Helen’s departure scenes which will come in October. In a statement, a spokesperson for Coronation Street told The Mirror: “Sean Wilson has stepped down from filming for personal reasons.”
However, fans are now fearing that the major change could mean Gail’s exit storyline will be rewritten to include a heartbreaking twist.
Sharing their thoughts online, viewers claimed they have ‘worked out’ how Gail will now leave – fearing she could be killed off. One person said: “Dear #Corrie producers…. whatever you do, DO NOT kill off Gail Platt.” (sic)
A second wrote: “Omg… sounds like maybe Helen has gone to the bosses and said that she doesn’t want to leave this way anymore and now this scares me she’s decided she wants Gail to be killed off instead. I’m actually scared.”
A third proclaimed: “Gail best not be getting killed off,” as another penned: “I swear if Gail gets killed off.” (sic)
While on a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, someone else wrote: “So Gail won’t be riding off into the sunset with Martin he’s stepped down for personal reasons so stopped filming how do we think Gail will leave.”
In the comments section, another fan wrote: “You can bet it won’t be a happy ending.” A third Facebook user penned: “I just pray she doesn’t die but knowing Corrie she probably will!”co
