Leanne exit ‘confirmed’ in Coronation Street as loved one prepares to end her
Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) gives a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘hell hath no fury like a woman scorned’ in Coronation Street soon as she sinks deeper and deeper in her revenge plan against Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) and Nick Tilsley (Ben Price).
Instead of rolling over and accepting her sister has started a relationship with her partner, Leanne has decide to plot against them both. However, instead of doing something small like exposing their affair in front of everyone in the pub, Leanne’s plan has the potential to put Nick and Toyah behind bars.
Days away from Christmas, Nick returns from his holiday and is told by Leanne that there’s a problem with the accounts in the Bistro. He eventually realises a company called TLH Holdings have accepted a series of payments from the restaurant.
Toyah then arrives for her shift. She’s excited to see Nick, but that is quickly destroyed when Kit (Jacob Roberts) enters and arrests her on suspicion of theft and fraud by abuse of trust.
Meanwhile, after sneaking a look inside Nick’s briefcase, Leanne is furious to see a wrapped Christmas present for Toyah.
Her anger and jealousy growing, Leanne heads to the station and shows Craig (Colson Smith) a pile of presents from Nick to Toyah, pretending they are in it together.
When Gail (Helen Worth) and Jesse’s (John Thomson) wedding comes around, guests start filing into the Bistro, only for the police to arrive behind them.
Once again, they’ve entered to see Toyah and Nick. They explain they need to ask them questions about a fraud allegation and their connection to yes, you guessed it, TLH Holdings.
Getting desperate, Nick heads to see Adam (Sam Robertson) and Alya (Sair Khan). They tell him he needs to do some digging if he wants to prove Leanne is behind the fraud allegations.
Thankfully, he’s given a glimmer of hope when Amy (Elle Mulvaney) accuses him of sending flirty texts while on holiday. Nick scans some CCTV and realises Leanne has two phones.
Once Toyah discovers this development, she learns from Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) that Leanne may face a custodial sentence.
She heads to see Nick and begs him to drop the charges, but what will he do?
Could Leanne be facing prison?
