The Witcher Boss Says Liam Hemsworth’s “Big fan base” Can Easily Replace Henry Cavill Fans in Season 5
Although the exclusion of Henry Cavill from The Witcher after the third season has been a major turn-off for many fans, not everyone believes that the show should wrap up with the actor leaving. With the show reportedly getting renewed for a fifth season, it’s evident that the creators are confident in Liam Hemsworth, who is set to replace Cavill as Geralt of Rivia moving forward.
But The Witcher Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich isn’t the only one who believes that Hemsworth will make a great Geralt, as The Witcher casting director shares a similar opinion too.
The Witcher casting director is confident about Liam Hemsworth’s iteration of the character
Known for working on The Witcher, Wednesday, You, and The Continental, UK casting director Sophie Holland recently reflected on the future of Netflix’s The Witcher. Although she refused to comment on Henry Cavill‘s situation, Holland explained that she is pretty optimistic about the show’s future with Liam Hemsworth at the forefront. And considering her comments on The Witcher Season 4 and 5, it seems despite the fans’ criticisms, The Hunger Games star is here to stay. She said,
“We’re just about to start filming on season four with Liam Hemsworth and there will be a short gap then we go straight into season five… I really look forward to seeing what Liam brings. He has a big fan base. Season four will be a nice mix of new characters and returning faces.”
But she isn’t the only one who is optimistic about the show’s future without Henry Cavill at the forefront, as Francesca actress Mecia Simson has a similar viewpoint to Sophie Holland.
Mecia Simson is optimistic about The Witcher moving forward
Following the comments of Sophie Holland regarding the 5th season of The Witcher, it’s obvious that the creators are confident about the show’s future even without the main attraction of the show. And Mecia Simson, who is known for playing the role of Francesca, seems to share a similar perspective too. Even though the exit of Cavill from the role was a hard pill to swallow, she believes that his exclusion wouldn’t be a major impact on the series moving forward. She said,
“And I think what comes next… there’s going to be more exciting things that are going to happen. I think the show is still going to be great”
Considering the showrunner and the casting director are pretty confident about Liam Hemsworth replacing fan-favorite Henry Cavill, it seems that The Witcher isn’t going to slow down anytime soon.
