Coronation Street fans say ‘I see you’ as Lisa Swain and Asha Alahan spoiler sparks same interest

Coronation Street fans have been left trying to work out the same thing after seeing a new spoiler involving DS Lisa Swain and Asha Alahan.

It’s been revealed ahead of a special episode next week that Lisa will lend an ear to Asha following a nightmare shift as a trainee paramedic.

It was previously announced that the ITV soap will shine a deeply emotional and powerful spotlight on Asha in a special hour-long episode set to air next Monday, August 25.

It will show the immense pressures she faces as a trainee paramedic, exploring the hidden stresses and strains beneath her seemingly calm exterior.

The second half of the gripping episode is told entirely from Asha’s perspective, flashing back to a devastating day that pushes her to breaking point.

Viewers will see Asha witness the full horror of a shift that includes a death, an injured elderly resident, and a harrowing racist attack, all culminating in her desperate struggle to breathe in the Rovers’ backyard, overwhelmed by a crippling panic attack.

As her twin brother Aadi, played by Adam Hussain, prepares to embark on a new chapter in India, Asha battles her inner demons, desperate to keep her true feelings hidden from her family.

New Corrie spoilers have since revealed that as the week continues, a downbeat Asha struggles with her day knowing her brother is about to leave for a new life thousands of miles away. Having said her goodbyes, she heads out on her shift with Sienna but things take a sinister turn when she is called to a car accident and as she arrives she recognises the car as Aadi’s.

Later, in the Bistro, a devastated Asha loses her temper and screams at Brody Michaelis for arguing with another customer. Sienna does her best to calm her down but tells her that her behaviour is unacceptable and that if she does it again, she will have to report her.

Having tried but failed to open up to Dev about how she is feeling, a drunken Asha is eventually rescued by a sympathetic Lisa in the Rovers.

Back at her family home, Asha finally unburdens herself and tells Lisa about the woman she tried to help, who verbally abused her and then assaulted her. Lisa tries to help, and urges her to report the incident to her manager.

As the new spoiler came with pictures of the pair at No.7 Coronation Street, fans were distracted as they’re still hopeful of a proposal between Lisa and girlfriend Carla Connor after the Underworld factory boss’ most recent plan went up in smoke.
